Development Length Tables

This document provides tables from AS3600 specifying the minimum tensile and compressive development lengths for deformed reinforcing bars of various diameters and concrete strengths. For tensile development length, the length depends on the bar diameter, concrete strength, and whether the bar is less than or greater than 300mm. The tensile development length can be reduced to half if a standard hook or cog is used. For compressive development length, the length is based on the bar diameter and concrete strength, and is unaffected by hooks or cogs.

AS3600 Clause 13.1.2.6 allows the development length of deformed bars with a standard hook or cog to be reduced to
0.5 Lsytb.
