Rounding to 110 days we get a target duration of 110 days with a 95,82% probability.
110 TD = Target duration
1,73 Z = the number of standard deviations of a normal distribution
101 EPD = Expected duration in days
27 v = the variance of the overall project = the sum of the task variances for each task that is on the criticial path.

The resource restraint of only having two excavators for the activities of “Install Piled Foundations” and
“Install Drainage” force the activities to be sequential. This extends the Expected Duration of the project
by 11 days for a total of 112 days.
Target Duration with at least 95% certainty is 122 days, which is 12 days later than the previous on 110
days.

Question 5
To answer the question of optimally complete de remainder of the project we must iterate with crashing
different activities in the project’s network analysis.
Through various iterations, it was concluded that Iteration 3 is the optimal solution, in which activities 13
and 9 are crashed.
6
Iteration 1: starting point. The first four activities have been completed.
Numbers 5, 11 and 12 cannot be crashed.
