REFLECTION

As a part of Assessment Task 5, we were tasked with simulating the construction of


a residential building through a Gantt chart. Within it, students researched
possible time lengths of such a task and utilized the tool, Microsoft Project to
envision the building construction. Through personal research, I concluded that
this construction would range from 160-170 days and thus finalized a 170-day time
length. My personal research skills in design were developed, allowing for future use
in a construction-focused occupation to plan and budget for structures.

Its lessons in the future would prove useful as a further lengthened time frame
would only stretch the budget, which is a cost that businesses would rather avoid.
As such, knowledge of how to use MS Projects to produce a Gantt chart would
remain a highly sought skill by businesses in order for workers to remain on
schedule while also limiting increases in cost.
