A. Safety Precautions
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system Ref. AMM 28-
00-00-610-801
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the fuel system.
(4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.

B. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 10M (33 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the access panel
312AR.
(2) Open the access panel 312AR.

C. Preliminary Check
(1) Do a visual check of the circuit breaker (C/B) 24QN for trim pump 709QN.
(a) If the C/B is tripped, do Ref. TSM TASK 24-00-00-810-870 between C/B 24QN and
contactor 25QN and between contactor 25QN and pump 709QN Ref. ASM 28-27-04.
1 Repair all unserviceable wiring and connectors Ref. ESPM 20-53-21.
2 Reset C/B and do Para 3.D.
(b) If the C/B has not tripped, do Para 3.D.

4. Fault Isolation
SUBTASK 28-27-00-810-072-A
A. Procedure
(1) If the pump does not operate:
(a) Measure the voltage at the pump (709QN) connector A pins 2, 4 and 6 Ref. AWM 28-27-
08. The voltage must be 115V AC 3-phase.
(2) If the voltage is correct:
(a) Replace the PUMP-TRIM TANK TRANSFER (709QN), Ref. AMM 28-27-48-000-801 and
Ref. AMM 28-27-48-400-801.
(b) Do the test in Para. 3.C.
(3) If the voltage is not correct:
(a) Replace the CNTOR-TRIM TRANSFER PUMP, CTL (25QN) on panel 752VU.
(b) Do the test in Para. 3.C.
(4) If the fault continues:
(a) Do a check of the aircraft wiring from the transfer pump (709QN) to the contactor (25QN)
and from the contactor to the C/B 24QN, Ref. ASM 28-27-04.
(b) Repair all the unserviceable wiring and connectors.
(c) Do the test in Para. 3.C.

B. Procedure
(1) If the pump operates:
(a) Replace the PRESS SWITCH-TRIM TANK TRANSFER PUMP (28QN), Ref. AMM 28-27-
11-000-801 and Ref. AMM 28-27-11-400-801.

C. Test
(1) Do the test in Para. 3.C.
(2) Press (release) the T TK XFR P/BSW. The FWD legend should go out.

A. Close Access
(1) Close the access panel 321AR.

B. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the warning notice(s).
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the safety barriers.
(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all
other items.
