SYLLABUS
Second Semester, AY 2021 - 2022

I. Course No. and Title :P.E. 02 Rhythmic Activities

II. Course Description : This subject deals with both theoretical and practical aspects of the course in folk and modern dancing. The active
involvement of the student is emphasized. Part 1 tackles the Philippine folk dances which are useful in the strengthening of national consciousness as well
as the preservation of our cultural values; while part 2 focuses on Popular and Modern Dances to encourage the students to become more creative.

Credit : 2 units

Hours/week/semester : 2 hours/week-54 hours/semester

Pre-requisite :

III. General Objectives :

1. Acquire knowledge on the history, rules, mechanics, terminologies, etc. of the sports.
2. Develop the basic skills of the sports
3. Apply the rules & mechanics in sports competition.
4. Appreciate the values gained in sports participation and apply these values in everyday life.

Student Outcomes (SOs)

By the time of graduation, The College students can:


1. Demonstrate a deep and principled understanding of the learning processes and the role of the teacher in facilitating these processes in their students;
2. Facilitate learning among diverse learners and relate educational processes to larger historical, social, cultural, and political processes;
3. Demonstrate mastery of the subject matter for a more meaningful and comprehensive teaching and learning process;
4. Apply a wide range of learning process skills (including curriculum development, lesson planning, materials)
5. Demonstrate and practice the professional and ethical requirements of the teaching profession;
6. Facilitate learning of diverse types of learners, in diverse types of learning environment, using a wide range of teaching knowledge and skills;
7. Reflect on the relationships among the teaching process skills, the learning processing in the students, the nature of the content/ subject matter, and the broader
social forces encumbering the school and educational process in order to constantly improve their teaching knowledge, skills, and practices;
8. Be creative and innovative in thinking of alternative teaching approaches, take informed risks in improving student learning; and
9. Continue learning in order to better fulfill their mission as teachers.

Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOs)

At the end of the course, the students will be able to:


1. Identify the terms used in different dances.
2. Differentiate the different dances in any other places.
3. Learn the different movement in dancing.
4. Develop among students’ interest and appreciation of the different Philippine dances and through group performance.
5. Identify the fundamental movements of folk dancing in different time signature.
6. Show interest and enjoyment in performing Philippine Folk Dances.
7. Execute the dance rhythmically with poise, well-coordinated bodily movement and perform the different dances accurately.
