Awareness Let the students watch the environmental problems in the
Philippines and ask them the following questions afterwards.
What is the influence of mankind’s activities upon the
world’s environment?
Have you ever wondered about the changes happening in
our environment?
What have you noticed about the weather and your
surroundings?
Which of the following statements regarding its state are
true for you and your community?
o It’s hotter now than it usually was during the
summer months.
o Typhoons are stronger and there is more rain
during the rainy season.
o We experience more flooding in our community.
o We evacuate our homes more frequently due to
natural calamities.
o Our community is now dirtier and more disorderly
compared to the past few years.
1. Communicate the learning objectives to the class.
2. Activity 2: Interpreting a paragraph of a song
Divide the students into four groups. Each group will be given a
paragraph of Louis Armstrong’s song “What a wonderful world”.
Each group will interpret the meaning of the song through a
poster.

humanity’s place in it.
