26 Prove that √5 is irrational 3

27 Solve 2x + 3y = 11 and 2x – 4y = – 24 and hence find the value of ‘m’ for which 3
y = mx + 3.

A fraction becomes 9/11 if 2 is added to both the numerator and the denominator. If,
3 is added to both the numerator and the denominator it becomes 5/6. Find the
fraction.
28 α and β are zeroes of the quadratic polynomial x²– 6x + y. Find the value of ‘y’ if

33 A solid toy in the form of a hemisphere surmounted by a right circular cone. The 5
height of the cone is 2cm, and the diameter of the base is 4cm. Determine the
volume of the toy, If a right circular cylinder circumscribes the toy, find the
difference between the volumes of the cylinder and toy( take =3.14)
