in Appendix-II, Table-II of UGC Regulations, 2018 as amended from time to time.
ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in University/College as Assistant Professor/Associate
Professor/Professor, and / or research experience at equivalent level at the University/National Level
Institutions with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidate.

B. An outstanding professional, having a Ph.D. degree in the relevant/allied/applied disciplines, from any
academic institutions (not included in A above) / industry, who has made significant contribution to the
knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, supported by documentary evidence provided he/she

A. i) A Master's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is
followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an
accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET)
conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who have been
awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and
Procedure for Award of M.Phil, Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time
as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET:
Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. Programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the
provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-Laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and
such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and
appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the
fulfillment of the following conditions: -
a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a
refereed journal;
e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conferences/seminar
sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency.
The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University
concerned.
Note:
NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET
is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.
OR
B. The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the
World University Ranking (at any time) by anyone of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) The Times
Higher Education(THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong
University (Shanghai).
Note:
The Academic score as specified in Appendix-II, (Table-3A) of the UGC Regulations, 2018 for University as
amended from time to time shall be considered for short listing of the candidates for interview only, and the
selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview.

General Instructions to the Candidates
1. Online mode of submission of applications shall be essential. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves
before applying that they possess at least the minimum essential qualifications laid down in the
advertisement.
2. IUCTE, BHU is following the qualification in accordance with UGC (Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of
Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and other Measures for the Maintenance of
Standards in Higher Education) Regulations, 2018 and Gazette Notification dated 11.10.2021 regarding the Ph.D.
Degree shall be a mandatory qualification for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor with effect
from 01.07.2023 and its amendments from time to time; and the essential qualification as prescribed by AICTE
and its amendments from time to time.
3. For Assistant Professors: The Academic score as specified in Appendix II (Table 3A) of the UGC Regulations,
2018/ AICTE Regulations, 2019 shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interviewonly, and the
selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview as prescribed in the UGC Regulations, 2018/
AICTE Regulations, 2019.
4. For Associate Professors and Professors: The Short listing of the candidates shall be governed based on Academic
and Research score as prescribed under Appendix-II (Table 2) as per UGC Regulations, 2018 available on IUCTE
website.
5. A relaxation of 5% shall be provided, (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have
obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991 as per UGC Regulations, 2018.
6. A relaxation of 5% shall be provided, (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the SC/ST/Physically Disabled Persons as
per UGC Regulations, 2018.
7. The job description of each position has been uploaded on the IUCTE, BHU website www.iucte.ac.in which may
be taken into consideration before applying for the advertised post(s).
8. Applicants shall first register on the Recruitment portal on the IUCTE, BHU website. After the successful
registration. The applicants will be able to login and they can fill up the prescribed online application form.
Separate applications shall be submitted for different positions.
9. Before starting to fill up the form, please ensure that you have the following: A scanned copy of photograph,
signature, caste/tribe/community certificate (if any), educational qualifications and experience related
documents in JPEG/JPG format, digital copies of publications for uploading. The photograph should not exceed
50 kb and other documents should not exceed 100 kb.
10. While filling the online application, if the browser closes unexpectedly or if the candidate is logged out, he/she
may use the login information sent to his/her email to login again.
11. Please ensure to enter all your research publications and other Academic/Research contributions in theonline
application. Only the information entered in the online applications form will be taken into account for deciding
eligibility and/or short-listing. Uploading digital copies of publications is essential. Filling all mandatory fields is
required to make your application complete.
12. Incomplete applications will not be entertained and will be summarily REJECTED.
13. There are several Tabs in your application. After completing each tab, you should click on „Save’ buttonto save
the information and move to the next tab. After filling all tabs, the candidate can finally submit his/her application.
Please note that you cannot make any changes after submitting the application form.

15. On successful submission, the applicant will come across a link for paying application fee and after the Payment the
candidate may download a PDF of the application, which he/she will have to print and send to IUCTE, BHU after
signing it and having it forwarded by his/her employer, if any, enclosing therewith the copiesof the relevant
certificates and documents, so as to reach IUCTE, BHU by the last date mentioned at Clause no. 37 of General
Instructions.
16. Submission of printout of the PDF duly signed along with all enclosures is mandatory without which the
applications may not be considered for further processing. Candidates must send self-attested copies of
certificates, mark-sheets from matriculation (10th Standard) onwards in support of the qualifications, reprints of
publications and certificates in support of their research score claimed for the post along with the hard copy of the
application form.
17. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview. More stringent criteria may be applied
for short-listing the candidates to be called for interview. Applicants having higher qualification and merit will be
given preference. Good Academic Record for all teaching positions shall be as defined as per UGC norms.
18. Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent to 55% wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized
University shall also be considered eligible.
19. Candidates belonging to SCs/STs/OBCs/EWSs/PwBDs category should submit proper caste/tribe/community
certificate as per the proforma prescribed by the Govt. of India.
20. Any corrigendum/ changes/ updates related to the recruitment process shall be available on official website of
the IUCTE, BHU www.iucte.ac.in
21. Relaxations and concessions for SCs/STs/OBCs will be applicable in accordance with reservation policy of the
GoI/MoE/UGC and subsequent clarification/directives issued from time to time to this effect.
22. The eligibility of an applicant shall be determined in accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2018 and its
subsequent amendments and/or in accordance with the relevant regulations of concerned Regulatory bodies.
23. Appendix-II, Table-2 and Table- 3(A) printed on page no. 105 and 107 of the UGC (Minimum Qualifications for
Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and other Measures for the
Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education) Regulations, 2018 is available on IUCTE, BHU website
i.e.www.iucte.ac.in
24. Academic/Research Score will be used only to shortlist the applications. Selection will be based on performance
of candidate in the interview.
25. For teaching positions recruitment process shall be done as per Bye-Laws approved by Governing Board of the
IUCTE, BHU which may be seen on the portal of the Recruitment Cell on the IUCTE, BHU website.
26. The Bye-Laws governing the procedure to be followed by the Selection Committee may be seen on the portal of the
Recruitment Cell on the IUCTE, BHU website.
27. The IUCTE, BHU shall verify the antecedents and documents submitted by a candidate at the time of appointment
or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidates are fake
or the candidate has a clandestine antecedent/ background and has suppressed the said information, then his/her
services shall be terminated.
28. The IUCTE, BHU reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without giving any reason.
29. Any consequential vacancies arising at the time of interview may also be filled up from the available candidates.
The University may, at its discretion, fill up any future vacancy belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWSs/PwBDs as per
roster point out of the available candidates. The number of positions is thus open to change. The IUCTE, BHU
may relax/review the qualification/ experience and age limit at its discretion at any stage and in case of
candidates with exceptional merit.
30. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the
issue of appointment letter, the IUCTE, BHU reserves right to modify/withdraw/cancel the appointment without
any communication made to the candidate. However, under the hazardous situation, the above conditions may
be relaxed.
31. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the IUCTE, BHU shall
be final and binding.
32. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.
33. No interim correspondence shall be entertained.
34. Those who are in the employment should rout their application through proper channel. In case their application
is not forwarded by their employer, the candidates are required to produce NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE at the
time of interview, failing which the candidates shall not be interviewed.
35. The UGC Regulations, 2018, AICTE Regulations, 2019 and Specialization and Job Description of the posts has been
uploaded on the ‘Recruitment Portal’ of IUCTE website www.iucte.ac.in Before applying for any advertised post(s),
the candidates are required to visit the aforesaid website for fulfilling her/his eligibility.
36. Hard Copy of the application along with all enclosures should be sent by SPEED POST only “To, The Administrative
Officer, Inter University Centre for Teacher Education (IUCTE), Sunder Bagia, Naria- BLW Road, Banaras
Hindu University, Varanasi-221005, U.P.” The post Code & Post Name should be super scribed on the envelope. Only
one application should be sent in one envelope. Applications received after the last date will not be entertained
in any case. IUCTE, BHU will not be responsible for any postal delay.
37. The eligibility of the candidate will be determined on the last date of online submission of application form
i.e. 08.01.2024. The last date of submission of downloaded hardcopy of the duly signed application form along
