Installation and commissioning instructions
1. Overview
EDI electrodeionization (Electro-deionization referred to as EDI) technology is a new
type of pure water and ultra-pure water preparation technology. This technology
integrates electrodialysis and ion exchange technology, through the selective passage
of anion and cation exchange membranes on anions and cations and the ion exchange
effect of ion exchange resin on ions, the directional migration of ions is realized under
the action of a DC electric field, thereby The deep desalination of water is completed
to produce ultrapure water with a resistivity as high as 15MΩ·cm.
In EDI equipment, various ions in the influent water are removed after passing
through the resin, and the water is purified. At this time, the principle of ion exchange
is used to remove ions in the water. Since the voltage is applied to both sides of the
ion exchange membrane, the water molecules are electrolyzed into and de-regenerated
resin, and at the same time, the ions exchanged with the ion are transferred to the
concentrated water chamber for discharge under the action of a stable voltage and
constant current power supply, thereby realizing continuous regeneration. purpose of
continuous use.

2. Installation Instructions
2.1. Preparation of materials and tools
Wrench, pipe cutter, angle grinder, screwdriver, multimeter, PVC glue, electrical tape,
cable, PVC pipe, etc.
2.2. Installation steps
(1) Equipment placement
Move the whole EDI machine to the place of use carefully to avoid bumps. The site
should be well ventilated and well-lit, and there should be more than 80cm of space
for operation and maintenance before and after the equipment.
(2) Pipeline connection
① Lead the qualified RO product water to the inlet of the EDI water supply pump
through the PVC pipe. It is recommended to install a control ball valve at the inlet;
put the ultraviolet lamp tube into the sterilizer.
The "Joint" in the lower left corner is the inlet of the EDI water supply pump.
②Connect the EDI product water pipe to the pure water tank (EDI product water
tank), and the EDI concentrated water pipe is recycled to the original water tank or
directly drained.
The first one on the left, the pipeline where the smaller flowmeter is located is the
EDI concentrated water outlet pipe, the pipeline where the second larger flowmeter is
located on the left is the EDI water production pipe, the third from the left is the fresh
water inlet pipe, and the fourth from the left is the concentrated water inlet pipe.
(3) Circuit connection
Connect the three-phase five-wire 380-volt power supply to the inlet of the main air
switch in the upper left corner of the control cabinet. Before wiring, make sure that all
switches are disconnected .
(4) Debugging
① After the pipeline is connected, slowly open the water inlet valve of the EDI
delivery pump, and the RO product water that meets the requirements begins to enter
the EDI membrane stack, and then slowly open the exhaust valve at the upper end of
the security filter to exhaust until the air is completely discharged.
Vent
②When the water fills the EDI module, turn on all the air switches in the control
cabinet, and at the same time turn on the power switch on the panel of the control
cabinet (the first on the left),When the man-machine interface is started, click "Auto
Mode" in the lower left corner of the screen, and the device starts to work.
Current adjust

product water
③ After starting to operate, slowly adjust the four inlet and outlet valves of
concentrated water and pure water to control the flow rate of concentrated water at
more than 300L/h and the flow rate of pure water at about 3000L/h. The magnetic
switch on the concentrated water flowmeter is used to prevent EDI from dry burning.
It should be set at a scale above 300L. If the concentrated water flow rate is lower
than 300L/h, the EDI system will automatically power off and stop. The pressure of
pure water inlet and outlet is 0.2-0.4MPa. In order to prevent concentrated water from
infiltrating into the fresh water chamber and causing the quality of produced water to
decline, the pressure of concentrated water inlet and outlet is lower than that of fresh
water inlet and outlet by 2-5Psi. , the concentrated water effluent should not have any
back pressure.

④ After the flow and pressure are adjusted, the EDI current can be adjusted. The
operating current depends on the quality of the influent water. Generally, the better
the water quality, the lower the current. The approximate operating range is 2A-3A.
The initial current is higher than the normal operating current. When the resistivity of
the produced water is stable above 15MΩ·cm, the current is adjusted back to the
normal value. This time generally takes several hours.
⑤ Shut down. Shutting down is the opposite of starting up, you should turn off the
power first and then close the water inlet valve.
3. Control Interface
The flow chart of the main screen of the device can display the running status of each
component, red means stop, green means running; manual control and parameter
setting need to be operated under the login status, and the login password is 1111; the
lower right corner is the login window, and the lower left corner is the function area .
I/O query displays the input and output points of each signal, and the running status.
On the manual interface, you can choose to turn on the EDI water supply pump and
the EDI power supply, click once to turn on, and click again to turn off. If manual
operation is required, first turn on the water pump to ensure that the EDI is filled with
water, and then turn on the EDI
All parameters have been adjusted before leaving the factory, and users are not
recommended to change them by themselves. If necessary, please contact the
manufacturer .
Alarm query can understand the fault dynamics of equipment operation.
