INTRODUCTION: (Ken)
In an age where sedentary lifestyles and technology dependency are prevalent, it has become
crucial to inspire people to lead healthier lives. Circuit Training, with its dynamic nature, not only ensures
that physical fitness goals are met but also encourages active participation and a sense of belonging for
individuals in our communities.
The objectives of our presentation for today is for you to be able to:
● Know what is circuit training and its purpose
● Know what is the benefits of circuit training and its example exercise
● What is the involvement of the community in promoting physical fitness; and
● To know how to create a workout plan
WHAT IS CIRCUIT TRAINING (Alexa)
Circuit training is a type of workout that involves rotating through a circuit of up to 10
exercises that target different muscle groups.
TYPES OF CIRCUIT TRAINING (Alexa)
● TIMED CIRCUIT - it involves working to a set time period for both rest and exercise
intervals.
● COMPETITION CIRCUIT - it is similar to a timed circuit, but each exercise is completed for
as many repetitions as possible within the given amount of time.
● REPETITION CIRCUIT - each exercise in the circuit is performed for a certain number of
repetitions (typically 10–15) before moving on to the next exercise.
● SPORT SPECIFIC CIRCUIT - each exercise is a drill used to improve certain movements
involved in a specific sport, such as practicing jumps, kicks, turns, and tumbling skills
for gymnastics
PURPOSE OF CIRCUIT TRAINING (Margaret)
There are several purpose of circuit training, this include the following:
● to build overall strength, cardiovascular fitness, and improve muscular endurance.
● Calorie burning
● Group exercise and for larger social interaction
● Adaptation for specific goals
BENEFITS OF CIRCUIT TRAINING (Daryl)
● INCREASE STRENGTH - An efficient circuit training workout incorporates exercises that
target muscles of the upper and lower body, which helps to increase overall strength.
● HELP WITH WEIGHT LOSS - Circuit training involves strength training and cardiovascular
exercises, such as rowing, running, or elliptical training, which can help improve your body
composition by building muscle and losing fat.
● TIME EFFICIENT - Circuit training involves little to no rest between exercises, so its
fast-paced nature helps save time. This can be incredibly beneficial to people who have
limited time to exercise but want to reap the most rewards out of their workouts.
