The answer to the question is already in the heading. Surely you have noticed that
different fonts are used in it. Strange shapes and various graphic layouts magically
attract the eye and make us want to take a closer look at the text. This works for facts as
well: People love to be surprised and find different ways of presenting data much
more interesting.

The following worksheets will help you to design a profile of a famous person in such a
way that it will be exciting for the reader. There are only two things you need to
consider:

1. Forget about the BLA BLA BLA BLA ...

2. bring life into the story!

1. Forget about the Bla Bla Bla …

Do you know texts and presentations that consist only of numbers, boring data and
facts? Nobody really wants to listen to them. Especially when it comes to biographies
of famous people, it is hard to remember dates like when they finished school or when
they moved to another city. What remains in memory though are special events,
challenges and the footprint they left in world history.

2. Bring life into the story!

Your fact file becomes particularly interesting when you breathe life into the
personality you want to introduce. Look for things that connect you. This could be
something like a common interest, your star sign, or a country you have both have
visited. You might even have the same interests or hobbies!

Search for quotations that appeal to you in particular. Imagine how the person would
live and work under today's conditions. Would he or she like the world as it is today?
What would he or she want to change about it?

Just imagine: What would have become of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart if he had had
the opportunity to use modern studio technology? What would he think about techno
music? Or about using social media? And what questions would you ask him if you
could meet him? @better_teaching_resources
