TS-Tools v1.0.
80 Manual Update
This new version of TS-Tools only includes one new set of features,
The ability to check ALL scenarios for missing rolling-stock simultaneously. To do
this proceed as follows:-
1. On the Route Building Tools menu, click ‘Check Routes and Scenarios’ and you
will get the above screen. This screen is exactly the same as in previous versions
apart from the 3 new buttons in the Blue box at the bottom of the screen.
2. Do not touch the top sections of the screen, just go to the blue box and click on
‘List Scenarios in all routes’, and the bottom grid will fill up with every scenario of
every route listed in the top grid. This can be many thousands of scenarios, the
number is listed on the right.
3. Once this has been completed, you will get a message telling you to click the
button, ‘List Stock missing in all scenarios’ and eventually a screen will appear
with a complete list of missing items. Note: I did intend to show all rolling stock,
but even in my set-up of 259 routes/5797 scenarios, I ended up with around
1.5million items (some U.S. trains have over 100 items) and system ran out of
memory.
4. After a considerable time (depending upon how many routes/scenarios you have and the speed of your computer -
in my case 259 routes/5797 scenarios and a new Intel i7 11700 cpu/32 gig ram computer) the above screen appears
this took about 2 hours but would take much longer on a slower machine - But hi, we are all gamers here and have
super-computers!
5. This screen is sorted on the Routes with each Scenario being sorted within the route and each missing item being
sorted within the scenario. However there may be many identical rolling stock items within each scenario, so at this
point click the button indicated ‘Remove Duplicate Rows’ and the program will delete all duplicate rows.
sometimes it is necessary to run this option twice.
6. At this point you should have a list where the first column shows the route, the 2nd and 3rd the scenario and the 4th
the missing item from the scenario. The list will of course also include rolling stock which is contained in .ap
archives, these will mainly be in scenarios from DTG and their partners such as Just Trains and may be ignored.
7. There are also buttons on this screen like ‘Print’, ‘Clear Grid’, and ‘Save’ which allows you to save the screen as
a ’.csv’ file to the ‘Reports’ folder and ‘Load CSV’ which allows you to reload the file into the grid. This Load
CSV button is the reason that there is a ‘View Missing Stock Screens’ button on the first screen shown above, using
this button you can get back to the list of missing stock without having to go through all the above steps.
