INTRODUCTION
Intelligence:

"Intelligence,is the ability to judge well, understand, and reason in complex situations.as defined
by Alfred Binet in 1905."

"Howard Gardner, in 1983, proposed a theory of multiple intelligences, asserting that intelligence
encompasses a diverse range of abilities beyond traditional measures, including linguistic,
logical-mathematical, spatial, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and
naturalistic intelligences."
There are various versions of the Test of Nonverbal Intelligence (TONI), including the more
modern TONI-4. The purpose of this exam is to measure IQ without taking into account the
influence of cultural background or language proficiency. TONI is especially noteworthy for its
nonverbal structure. It was designed to give an equitable evaluation of intellect for people who
would not be fairly assessed by conventional exams, such as those with language or hearing
difficulties. TONI-4, the updated edition, features improved test items and norm improvements.
There has been a lot of recent research on TONI-4. Studies from 2021 and 2022, for instance,
examined its use in evaluating cognitive abilities in kids with language impairments and its
efficacy across a range of demographics, demonstrating its wide range of applications.
PSYCHOMETRIC PROPERTIES

It is clear from evaluating the psychometric qualities of the Test of Nonverbal Intelligence
(TONI-4) that this instrument excels in terms of validity and reliability. The excellent test-retest
dependability of TONI-4 is impressive. This indicates that the test is stable and dependable
because people's scores tend to remain consistent over time when they retake it. TONI-4 excels
in both content and construct validity when it comes to validity. The test's content validity is
demonstrated by the way it focuses on abstract problem-solving and nonverbal reasoning, which
is precisely in line with its intended purpose of measuring nonverbal intelligence.
The fact that TONI-4 is skilled at evaluating intelligence without being influenced by linguistic
or cultural prejudices is a major benefit for its construct validity. The standardisation of TONI-4
is another important feature. To make sure that its norms are representative of a large population,
it has been standardised on a sample that is both diverse and vast. This is important since it
ensures that the test is fair and suitable for a wide variety of people.
METHODS AND PROCEDURES
One male participant took the Test of Nonverbal Intelligence (TONI). The testing environment
consisted of a classroom with other students completing the same test at the same time. It is
significant to note that there was some background noise in the classroom throughout the test
delivery, which would have been a source of distraction and affected the subject's concentration
and test performance.
One of the most important aspects of administering the test was figuring out the ceiling and base
levels. The test's baseline was determined by selecting an initial item at which the participant was
anticipated to correctly respond to all following items. The age of the subject and the standard
beginning points listed in the TONI manual were used to calculate this level. On the other hand,
the ceiling level was defined as the test point at which the subject repeatedly provided an
incorrect response to a predetermined number of items, signifying the upper bound of her
performance within the test's parameters.
In terms of how to calculate chronological age, it's a simple procedure. The exact date of the test
was noted, and the subject's birthdate was subtracted from this date to determine the subject's
chronological age. In order to interpret the test results fairly and accurately, the subject's age is
then used to compare their test performance to normative data for people of the same age.

INVESTIGATIONS CONDUCTED
• TONI-4.
RESULTS
TABLE 1:

Analysis
The client took the Toni-4 test of nonverbal intelligence, which measures an individual's
specific intellectual domain—problem solving and abstract skills. Based on the test's scoring,
her percentile score was 87, indicating that she is above the average range for intellectual
functioning and surpasses 87% of the population. The test results showed that the client's age
was greater than 18. Still, there is room for improvement in the outcomes.
CONCLUSION
On the TONI, the subject performed better than average. This result implies a higher degree of
problem-solving and nonverbal intelligence than the average for her age group. These results
have significant ramifications. The subject's above-average score shows a strong aptitude for
problem-solving and abstract reasoning, which are useful abilities in both academic and real-
world settings. Interventions and instructional tactics based on the subject's strengths can be
informed by the results of this assessment. Furthermore, the TONI's ability to be administered
successfully in a less-than-ideal testing environment highlights both the test's resilience and the
subject's capacity to stay focused and perform cognitively in spite of possible distractions.
