Hello everybody!

Now it's time for you to do the task for this week, so I invite you to check the instructions
below. Remember that if you need to review a topic, you can always check the course
material as often as needed. Keep in mind that you have to present this task during week
11.

1. Learning Outcome
Unidad 3: Things around us
Logro específico de aprendizaje: Al finalizar la unidad, el estudiante describe objetos
cotidianos para desenvolverse en la lengua inglesa a nivel A2 utilizando gramática y
vocabulario pertinentes.

2. Lesson Outcome
At the end of the lesson, you and your partners have a conversation comparing the old
and new versions of a technological device by using the vocabulary and grammar
structures learned during the week.

3. Description
a. Step 1:
i. Work in pairs or groups of three.
ii. Think about all the technological devices you know.
iii. Each one of you must choose your favorite one.
iv. Look for pictures showing the old and modern versions of the
chosen devices.
b. Step 2:
i. Compare the technological devices: price, color, material, size,
functions, etc.
ii. Write sentences by using comparative adjectives.
iii. E.g:
1. TV1 is heavier than TV2.
2. TV1 is cheaper than TV2.
3. TV2 is lighter than TV1.
4. TV2 is more modern than TV1.
c. Step 3:
i. Each one of you must compare two devices using comparative
adjectives.
ii. Get together with your partner(s), share your information, and
decide the order of presentation in the video.
iii. Look at the following chart as a guide:
1. Student A: My favorite device is ____________ There are
two TVs in my house, one is in my bedroom, and the other
one is in my parent's bedroom. But they are different. My
TV is________ than my parents' TV...
2. Student B: My favorite device is ____________
3. *Student A: Compares 2 devices.
4. *Student B: Compares 2 different devices.
5. *Student C: Compares 2 different devices.
d. Step 4:
i. Record a video to share this information.
ii. Remember: each one of you must compare two technological
devices by using comparative adjectives and must speak for at
least one minute on the video.

4. Considerations to record the video


a. Before recording the video
i. Work in pairs or groups of three.
ii. Keep in mind the time you have for the task.
iii. Use the grammar and vocabulary you have studied during the
week.
iv. Avoid using translators and make sure your ideas are coherent.
v. Practice your pronunciation, intonation, and vocalization.
vi. Use a quiet place to record your conversation.
b. At the moment of recording the video
i. Show yourselves to the camera in a close-up or medium shot,
without covering your face.
ii. Avoid recording yourselves in the shadows or giving your back to
the light.
iii. Greet your audience and introduce yourselves at the beginning of
the video.
iv. Use correct pronunciation, intonation, and vocalization.
v. Use the correct volume of voice; it should be neither too high nor
too low.
vi. Use body language and show interest when listening to your
partners.
vii. Avoid reading your conversation.
viii. Use the time allotted for the task.
ix. Finish the video by saying goodbye to your audience.
c. After recording the video
i. Double-check your video before submitting it.
ii. If you have a link, make sure the access to your video is open.
