Important Notes for When Installing the ZF4000 (B660-57/66/67)


Z-Folding Unit on the D014/D015 Copier

The ZF4000 supports connection with the D014/D015 copier only when both of the
following conditions (1) and (2) are met:

(1) The ZF4000 must be from May 2007 production or later.


Cut-in S/N:
ZF4000 machine code Cut-in S/N
B660-57 K3070400079 May 2007 production
B660-66 8M405700001 May 2007 production
B660-67 K3070500022 May 2007 production

Note: For ZF4000 folding units produced from May – December 2007, there is a blue
mark on the outer box and on the folding unit itself.

Note: If you connect a ZF4000 produced before the cut-in S/N to a D014/D015 copier
(not supported), the following will occur:

z When jammed paper is removed from the ZF4000, the guide plate [A] will touch
the copier front cover [B].
z A paper jam will occur if the ZF4000 is used with the B835-17 two-source cover
interposer.

(2) The finisher must be an SR5000 (100-staple) or SR4020 (saddle stitch).


Note: Connection to a SR4010 finisher is not supported.

OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES


As mentioned above, the ZF4000 must be from May 2007 production or later to be
supported. However, if it is absolutely necessary in the field to connect an older ZF4000
with an SR4020 finisher:
z Make sure that the ZF4000 was produced from July 2006 or later.
NEVER USE a ZF4000 produced before July 2006 with an SR4020 finisher.
If you do, the motor driver IC (IC115) may heat up and emit smoke.
