This course, CRI3122-Dispute Resolution, and Crises-incident Management deals with the
study of the different mechanisms in dealing with and resolving conflicts/disputes. It includes
the art of intervention through mediation, and reconciliation between stakeholders and
agencies tasked to carry out the endeavor. Likewise, the course includes the concepts of crisis
management and the proper procedure for handling the incident. Moreover, the study
significantly provides mechanisms to adopt strategies in dealing with potential and actual
crises which are being addressed by concerned agencies and authorities and the community.
Now, what I am expecting from this course as well as from our professor is that all concepts
mentioned above will be clearly and comprehensively discussed and/or shared by our
professor. I expect that in this class, our professor is not just teaching us about the subject but
also encouraging us to participate in his class in a way that we cannot fall asleep while he’s
discussing, being lively, happy face (not that poker face). Give us lots of feedback on our work.
Listen and respond to our concerns. Care not only about academics but also about us as
people. We have a life outside of class so, I am hoping that he will not make unreasonable
demands on us. Do not stick only to the class readings for discussion. This is my expectation
of Prof. Joemar Cervantes since I have never been his student. So, I am hoping that these
“expectations” turned into “as expected”.
