This study examined the use of money among 11th grade students in Northern Samar Colleges. It found that most respondents were female (56%) and between the ages of 16-18 (35%). It also found that most respondents received a weekly allowance between 100-300 pesos (37%) and their parents had a monthly income between 5,000-20,000 pesos (36%). The top reason respondents spent money was to pay for cellphone load. No significant relationship was found between respondents' socio-demographic factors and how they spent money. The report recommends seminars on money management for students, teaching budgeting skills, and inviting business leaders to teach students.

CHAPTER V
SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION
Summary of Findings
This study titled Use of Money among Grade 11 students in
Northern Samar Colleges (NSC), recorded the following salient findings of the study.
The data shows under the category of Sex, it implies that 68
or 56% of the respondents are female during the School Year 2020- 2021. Under the category of Age, it implies that 43 or 35% of the respondents has age ranges 16-18. Under the category of Weekly Allowance, it implies that 45 or 37% of the respondents have a weekly allowance of Php 100-300. Under the category of Parents’ Monthly Income, it implies that 44 or 36% of parents of the respondents have a monthly income of Php 5,000-20,000.
Under the respondents’ responses on the statement reveals
that statement number 8 which states “I spend money to pay for my cellphone load” with a weighted mean 4.3 is the first reason of the respondents why they use money. Statement number 3 which states “I spend time in playing online games” with a weighted mean 2.1 is the last reason why the respondents used money. It implies that statement number 8 is the reason of the most respondents why they used or spend money and the statement number 3 is the least common reason of the respondents why they used or spend money. 35
The Pearson Product Moment Coefficient of Correlation is
used to know if there is significant relationship from Socio- demographic Profile to the Factors that affects Use of Money. The computed value of r in Sex is -0.3394, value of r in Age is - 0.0522, value of r in Weekly Allowance is 0.0941, and value of r in Parent’s Monthly Income is 0.1297 are greater than the tabular value of 0.8054 at 0.50 level of significance with 3 degrees of freedom, the null hypothesis is accepted in favor of the research hypothesis. This means that there is no significant relationship between the socio-demographic profile of the respondents in terms of Sex, Age, Weekly Allowance and Parent’s Monthly Income to the factors that affects use of money.
Conclusion
The following data are concluded based on the findings:
Under the socio-demographic profile, 68 or 56% of the
respondents during 2020-2021 are female. 43 or 35% of the respondents has age ranges 17-18. 45 or 37% of the respondents has 100-300 pesos for their weekly allowance. 44 or 36% of the respondents have parent’s monthly income 5,000-20,000. Under the respondents’ responses on the statement, it reveals that statement number 8 which states “I spend money to pay for my cellphone load” with a weighted mean 4.3 is the most reason of the respondents why they spend or use 36
money and statement number 3 is the least common reason of
the respondents why they used or spend money. Under the Pearson Product Moment Coefficient of Correlation, there is no significant relationship between Socio- demographic Profile of the respondents to the Factors that affects use of money.
Recommendation
The following recommendations were formulated based on the
findings:
1. It is recommended that the school administration should
conduct seminar, program and other activities that can help students to manage their money.
2. Students who spend more money should encourage to make their
own budgeting plan, have goals in mind and keeping track of their expenses.
3. It is also recommended that teachers, specifically ABM
teachers should more focus on teaching their students in handling and spending money in proper way.
4. School administration should invite Business Tycoon or Guest
Speaker in an actual business world to inspire, encourage and teach students in handling businesses especially in managing money.
