Welding Procedure Specification

This document provides a welding procedure specification for a single V butt weld on a 4" ASTM A 106 Gr. B pipe with a thickness of 6mm. It will use gas tungsten arc welding and shielded metal arc welding with ER70S-2 and E7018 filler metals. The root pass will be done with GTAW using a 2.5mm ER70S-2 electrode at 60-90 amps and 12-18 volts. The fill and cap passes will be done with SMAW using a 2.5mm E7018 electrode at 60-130 amps and 22-28 volts. Preheating will be done to 10°C and interpass temperature kept below
