1. The document provides instructions for removing a swing frame from an excavator. It lists the required tools and safety precautions when using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs. 2. The removal procedure involves first removing pins and bolts to separate the swing frame, then using hydraulic cylinders and puller tools to withdraw additional pins and bearings. 3. Care must be taken when using hydraulic tools to exert enough force for removal without risk of sudden failure from overloading the puller stud capacity. Following the steps and using proper tooling allows for safe removal of the swing frame assembly.

a. Remove the boom.

When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always
ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds
the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does
not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a
sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of
the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.
