E. Presentation

Class please listen carefully and we will discuss


the Reproductive parts of the flower .

Petals- are modified leaves that surround the


reproductive parts of the flower. They are often
brightly colored usually shaped to attract
pollinators.

Pistil- The female organ of a flower comprising


the stigma, style, and ovary.
Calyx/Sepals- protects the flower when not yet
blooming also supports the base of the flower.

Filament- holds the anther in a high position for


release of pollen.

Anther- holds the pollen sacs.

Pollen Sacs- contains and release the pollen


grain.

Style – connects the stigma to the ovary also


traps the pollen grain.

Stigma – structure which receives the pollen


grains, stimulates the pollen grains to germinate
and reach the ovary.

Ovary- holds the egg cell which are to be


fertilized y the sperm from the pollen grains.

Stem- main supporting axis of a flowering plant.
