Grade 1 I. Objectives At the end of one hour discussion, 75% of grade 1 pupils are expected to: a. identify the addends and the sum of addition; b. show cooperation through group activity; and c. add the following objects and numbers.
The teacher presents a “mathematical song” to the pupils.

C. Discussion
Let the students count the number of leaves fallen on the right side and on the left side of the tree. They will identify what are the addends and what is the sum based on the presentation given. 3 + 4 = 7
