The MAC Attack!

Now that the Scotties are out, here’s the team we need to be rooting for, MAC
(Mission-Arlee-Charlo ) which opens the 2023 State B-C Softball Tournament
with the Conrad-Chotoau Cow-Dawgs at 2:30 on Thursday. Why cheer for MAC?
Grandpa Smiley can tell ya! Twin sisters Jerney and Rheid Crawford are the
daughters of Jennifer (Lasar) Crawford(at left) Jerney and Rheid are two of the
eight seniors who have been who have been state runners-up the past two seasons
to Florence (10-4 in ’21, 14-11 in ’22). And it could very well be another Florence-
MAC match-up this Saturday afternoon unless Shepherd has something to say
about it. MAC knocked off the Falcons 8-2 near the end of the regular season but
were once again runners-up at the Western B Divisional, knocking the Falcons of
10-7 the first championahip game, but losing 10-4 in the second. Needless to say,
it’s going to be an exciting state tournament. Shepherd opens with Thompson Falls
at 2:00, MAC vs. Conrad at 2:00, and at 4:00 it’s Florence taking on Huntley Project
(4E) and Columbus (2E) battling Manhattan (3W). Back to Smiley’s grandkids,
Jerney is a two-time All-Stater, soon to be a three-timer. Softball was cancelled her
freshman year because of you know what. Jerney will be continuing her softball
season wearing a Carroll College Saints uniform. Until then, Let’s go, MAC!
