NOTE:
1. Age of superannuation: 65 years for all the above positions.

2. Candidates desirous of applying under both UR and any reserved category are required to submit
separate applications for each category.

3. Candidates claiming any relaxation of essential eligibility criteria, will not be eligible for UR
category posts.

4. Modifications /Additions / Deletions to the above-mentioned Positions / Specializations or any


other changes due to administrative exigencies shall be notified on the Website of the University only
for Information of applicants till last date for submission of application online application.

5. Candidates who had previously applied for the Assistant Professor posts mentioned at
Table 1.1. b. (Category II – Deferred positions) notified vide Employment Advertisement dated
22-07-2019 need to apply again.

6. Applicants may also note that enclosures/evidence for the API score claimed in the online
application shall be accepted till last date for submission of application. Under no circumstances,
enclosures / support documents be accepted after the last date for receipt of hard copies of applications.

7. For each score claimed in the application support document (s) signed by authorized signatory should
be attached while forwarding the hardcopy of application. Any entry/claim made in the application
without supporting documents as evidence will summarily be rejected resulting in disqualification of
his/her candidature.

8. All enclosures should be serially numbered and citied at the relevant section. Enclosures should
follow a format provided by the University in this advertisement. Wherever such information for
which a format is not provided by the University, a format as per Government of India regulations
may be followed.

Instructions to the candidates for filling the Application form

 The candidates are requested to go through the Employment Notification


placed on the University Website https://uohyd.ac.in/careers-uoh/. Read
the instructions carefully and comply with them, before filling the details
in the candidate portal.

 The candidate has to click on the link provided and complete the
registration process first. They must confirm their registration via link sent
to their registered mail id.

 Once the registration of the candidate is confirmed, the candidate


may log-in on the application portal using the credentials and fill
all the information viz., educational qualifications, experience,
academic/research details etc. and submit the form online.

 The supporting documents attached to the hard copy of the application


may be serially numbered (Ex: 1, 2, 3……..etc) with page numbers and
the reference must be given at the relevant entry in the application form.

 Submission of a hard copy of the application with enclosures also


mandatory. Online applications will be summarily rejected if the hard
copy of it is not received with all the supporting documents evidencing the
entries in the application. The candidate has to take a print-out of the
filled-in application and enclose all the self-attested supporting documents
and forward to the following address on or before 09/06/2023 after
appending applicant’s signature. Applications without signature of the
candidate and incomplete forms ‘will not be considered’.

1.2 Essential qualifications and specializations for the positions.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSTS IN THE DISCIPLINES OF HUMANITIES,


SOCIAL SCIENCES, SCIENCES, ECONOMICS AND COMMUNICATION ETC.
(ACCORDING TO CLAUSE 4.0.0 OF THE UGC REGULATIONS 2018 DATED JULY 18,
2018)

Note: For School of Computer and Information Sciences, Centre for Advanced Studies in
Electronic Science and Technology, School of Engineering Sciences and Technology,
Department of Education and Education Technology and School of Management
Studies the Essential Qualifications are given separately as per the norms of
Regulatory Authorities – such as: AICTE/ NCTE, as applicable.

PROFESSOR

Eligibility (A or B):

A. i) An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, and


published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work
with, a minimum of TEN research publications in journals notified in the UGC CARE list and a
total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Regulations
2018.

ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant


Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, and / or research experience at equivalent level at the
University/National Level Institutions with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral
candidate.
OR
B. An outstanding professional, having a Ph.D. degree in the relevant/allied/applied disciplines,
from any academic institutions (not included in A above) / industry, who has made significant
contribution to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, supported by
documentary evidence provided he/she has ten years’ experience.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

i) A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.

ii) A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the
grading system is followed).

iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/ research
position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research
Institution/industry with a minimum of SEVEN research publications in journals notified in the
UGC CARE list and a total research score of Seventy-five (75) as per the criteria given in
Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Regulations 2018.

Note:-
 Good Academic Record for Associate Professor only

1) Under the term 'good academic record' the candidate must have obtained an average of 50% marks and
above in ‘graduation’.
2) A relaxation of 5% is provided at the Graduate and Master's level for the SC/ST/PwD categories for the
purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record. Candidates claiming this relaxation are not
eligible for UR category positions.

 Publications:

Opinions or comments, commentary articles, book reviews, and editorials published in journals
will not be considered as publications.
As per the circular issued by the University on 08-12-2022, the research publications in
peer-reviewed and UGC listed journals up to 13-06-2019 and the research publications in the
journals indexed in the UGC-CARE list publications with effect from14-06-2019 will be
considered.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

A. i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading
system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an
equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility
Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like
SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University
Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree)
Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted
from NET/SLET/SET :

Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be
governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the
Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the
requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or
equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the
following conditions: -

1. The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;

2. The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;

3. An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;

4. The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of
which at least one is in a refereed journal;

5. The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in
conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CSIR or
any similar agency.

The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic
Affairs) of the University concerned.

Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for
which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the
UGC, like SLET/SET.
OR

B. The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among
top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i)
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking
of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

The Academic score as specified in Appendix II (Table 3A) for Universities, and Appendix II
(Table 3B) for Colleges, shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interview only,
and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSTS IN THE DISCIPLINES OF COMPUTER
AND INFORMATION SCIENCES, ADVANCED CENTRE FOR STUDIES IN
ELECTRONIC SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING
SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND
EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY, SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES,
DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC, DANCE, COMMUNICATION AND FINE ARTS.

 COMPUTER AND INFORMATION SCIENCES:

PROFESSOR:

i) Ph.D. degree which is in a topic relevant to Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence or


Information Technology, with First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in a
relevant area.

ii) Minimum of 10 years of experience in teaching/ research/ industry out of which at least 3 years
shall be at a post equivalent to that of an Associate Professor.

iii) At least 6 high quality research publications in the preceding 4 years, in SCI/SCIc
journals/UGC-CARE list/AICTE approved list of journals and at least 2 successful Ph.D.
guided as Supervisor/Co-supervisor till the date of eligibility of promotion.

At least 10 high quality research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCI/SCIc
journals/UGC-CARE list/AICTE approved list of journals till the date of eligibility of
promotions.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:

i) Ph.D. degree which is in a topic relevant to Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence or


Information Technology, with First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in
Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence or Information Technology.

ii) At least a total 6 research publications in SCI/ SCIc journals / UGC-CARE list/ AICTE
approved list of journals.

iii) Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching / research / industry out of which at least 2 years
shall be Post Ph.D. experience.

Class or equivalent at both levels. Related areas will be determined as per the Gazette
notification of AICTE dated 28/4/2017 on “Major/Core Branch of Engineering/ Technology
and their relevant / appropriate courses leading to degree in Engineering/ Technology for
recruitment to teaching positions F. No. 27/RIFD/Pay/01/2017 – 18.”

Ph.D. in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Ceramic


Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or related areas. Related areas will be determined as
per the Gazette notification of AICTE dated 28/4/2017 on “Major/Core Branch of
Engineering/Technology and their relevant/appropriate courses leading to degree in
Engineering/Technology for recruitment to teaching positions F. No. 27/RIFD/Pay/01/2017 –

2. A Master’s degree in Science or Technology, with first class and Ph.D. in Metallurgy or

1. B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering or Mechanical

Class or equivalent at both levels. Related areas will be determined as per the Gazette

Mechanical Engineering or Nanoscience and Technology or related areas with First Class or
equivalent in any one of the degrees. Related areas will be determined as per the Gazette
notification of AICTE dated 28/4/2017 on “Major / Core Branch of Engineering / Technology
and their relevant/appropriate courses leading to a degree in Engineering / Technology for
recruitment to teaching positions F. No. 27/RIFD/Pay/01/2017 – 18.”

2. A minimum score and experience as stipulated in the appropriate AICTE Regulations on Pay
Scales, Service Conditions and Minimum Qualifications for the Appointment of Teachers. It is to be
noted that the screening committee may adopt higher performance criteria if required.

Desirable:

1. Ph.D. in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Nanoscience and


Technology or related areas. Related areas will be determined as per the Gazette notification of
AICTE dated 28/4/2017 relating to “Major / Core Branch of Engineering / Technology and their
relevant/appropriate courses leading to a degree in Engineering / Technology for recruitment to
teaching positions F. No. 27/RIFD/Pay/01/2017 – 18.”

2. Candidates, if awarded a Ph.D. Degree, should have been as per the Gazette notification dated
5/5/2016 of the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of
M.Phil./Ph.D Degrees) Regulations, 2016 or as applicable.

3. Research/teaching experience in advanced Manufacturing Science and Engineering/Nanoscience

Research Institution/ industry with a minimum of seven publications in UGC CARE list
journals and a total research score of Seventy five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix II,
Table 2 of UGC Regulations 2018.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

A. i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading
system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an
equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility
Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like
SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University
Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree)
Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted
from NET/SLET/SET :
Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be
governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the
Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the
requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or
equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the
following conditions: -
1. The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
2. The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
3. An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
4. The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at
least one is in a refereed journal;

5. The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in
conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CSIR or any
similar agency.

The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic
Affairs) of the University concerned.

Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for
which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the
UGC, like SLET/SET.

B. The Ph. D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among
top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i)
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking
of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

The Academic score as specified in Appendix II (Table 3A) for Universities, and Appendix II
(Table 3B) for Colleges, shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interview only,
and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview.

OR

i. A post graduate qualification MD/MS in the concerned subject and as per the MCI Regulations.

ii. 3 years Junior Resident in a recognized medical college in the concerned subject and one year as

GENERAL:

Applicants are advised to submit the applications to the University well in advance, without waiting till the last
1. date, to avoid postal delays or any other unforeseen problems. The University will not be responsible for any
postal delay at any stage.

The prescribed qualifications and experience are the minimum and the mere fact that a candidate
possessing them will not entitle him/her to being called for interview. The University reserves the right to
restrict the candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number on the basis of qualifications
and/or experience higher than the minimum prescribed. Call letters to attend interviews will be sent only

assignment, without taking any kind of leave, shall be counted as teaching experience for the purpose
of direct recruitment.

iv) The post-doctoral experience of the candidate shall be counted for direct recruitment, subject to
fulfilment of the conditions laid down under clause 10.0 of UGC Regulations 2018.

v) The University reserves the right to issue any corrigendum to this notification as necessary/ deemed fit
and it will be published on the University website for the information of all concerned. No other
communication will be made or published in public domain.

vi) The university may adopt higher performance criteria, if required.

vii) No communication to any section of the University will be entertained nor responded to and it will be
the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the application is complete in all respects together
with self-attested valid supporting documents for the information furnished in the application at the

viii) The applicants must be aware that their output by way of M.Phil./Ph.D./research papers are not
