City & Guilds 2382-20

Synopsis

Rationale for City & Guilds 2382-20 Course The 2382-20 qualification is primarily aimed at practising electricians with a working knowledge of BS 7671. To be eligible to take the 2382-20 course, candidates must show Trans-Euro their original certificate from one of the following: o o o o 2381 (since June 2001) 2330-07 2330-08 2360 Part 2 (since January 04).

Candidates who cannot comply with the above must undertake the qualification addressing the Wiring Regulations in full the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671:2008) (2382-10). The City & Guilds 2382-20 course provides a comprehensive review of the latest edition of the wiring regulations (BS7671:2008). This scheme is intended to ensure that practising electricians comply with the format, content and applications of The Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671. The scheme covers topics such as protection for safety, selection and erection of equipment, and inspection and testing to meet the standards of the IEE Wiring Regulations. Candidates may find the On Site Guide a useful revision tool, but there are no questions within the 2382-20 test which specifically cover the OSG. The 30-question multi-choice exam lasting 1 hour is set and marked by City & Guilds, but run by Trans-Euro Engineering Services Ltd in Towcester. Note: Although the 2382-20 exam has half the number of questions compared with the 238210 exam, it still covers the full range of BS7671, like 2382-10, and is not confined to just the changes that have occurred in updating the 16th edition to the 17th edition. Administrative Arrangements The course and the exam are normally held at Trans-Euros premises at 186 Watling Street, Towcester, but the location can be at client premises by prior arrangement. Normal times of attendance are from 09:00 to 17:00, with lunch from 12:15 to 13:00. Refreshment breaks are taken as necessary during the morning and afternoon. Towcester is centrally placed and is conveniently accessible by road, rail and air. Accommodation and parking are easily arranged. Full details are available from the Course Secretary. Participants with special needs should advise the Course Secretary 21 days before the start of the course. See Equal Opportunities, below. Safety Warning Note that the Trans-Euro emergency assembly area is the Magistrates Court car park, across the main A5 Watling Street. This is a busy trunk road therefore extreme caution is required.
