Quarter 1 – Module 1:

Nutrition

INTRODUCTION

Good nutrition is an important part of leading


a healthy lifestyle. Combined with physical activity,
your diet can help you to reach and maintain
a healthy weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases (like
heart disease and cancer), and promote your overall
health.

This module was designed and written with you in mind. It


is here to help you master the importance of proper
nutrition. The scope of this module permits it to be used in
many different learning situations.

The module is divided into three lessons, namely:


• Lesson 1 – Healthful and Less Healthful Foods
• Lesson 2 – Consequences of Eating Less Healthful
Food
• Lesson 3 – Good Eating Habits

YOUR TARGETS

After working on this module, pupils may able to do the


following:
1. Identify what foods are considered as healthful and
less healthful.
2. Give examples of foods that are healthful and less
healthful.
3. Tell the importance of eating good habits.

4. Demonstrate the good eating habits behavior.
5. Answer the assessment test given.

Two (2) columns.
• On the right side write the word healthful foods and on
the left side write the word less healthful foods.
• List down names of foods as many as you can
healthful and less healthful foods.
• After 5 minutes that’s the time you are going to read
your answer, if there are the same name given or
mentioned you are going to cross it out.
• The more words you remained wins the game.

Directions: Study each pictures carefully. Based from the


set of pictures identify and box the healthful foods and
encircle the less healthful foods.

Remember: We should eat healthy foods to have a


healthy body. Healthy foods make us strong and healthy.
