1. A dc two wire distributor is fed at F 1 and F2 at 220V and 225V respectively. The total
length of the distributor is 250 m. The loads tapped off from fed end F1 are
                         Load in ampere: 20 40 25 35
                         Distance in meter : 50 75 100 200
The resistance per km of one conductor is 0.3Ω. Determine the current in various
sections of the distributor and the voltage at the point of minimum potential.
2. A 300m ring distributor has loads as shown in fig. where
distances are in meters. The resistance of each conductor
is 0.2 per km and the loads are tapped off at points B, C
and D as shown. If the distributor is fed at A at 240V,
   find voltages at B, C and D.
3. A single phase distributor 2 km long supplies a load of 120 A at 0.8 power factor
lagging at its far end and a load of 80 A at 0.9 power factor lagging at its mid-point.
Both power factors are referred to the voltage at the far end. The resistance and
reactance per km (go and return) are 0.05ohms and 0.1 ohms respectively. If the
voltage at the far end is maintained at 230 V, calculate
      a) voltage at the sending end
      b) phase angle between the voltages at the two ends
4. Calculate the loop inductance per km of a single phase transmission line consisting of
two parallel conductors 1.5m apart and 1.5cm in diameter. Calculate the reactance of
the transmission line if its operating frequency is 50Hz
5. A 220 kV, 50 Hz, 200 km long three phase line has its conductors on the corners of a
triangle with sides 8m, 10m and 12m. The conductor radius is 1.8cm. Find the
capacitance per phase per km, capacitive reactance per phase, charging current and
   total charging Mega volt-amperes.
6. A three phase 220kV, 50Hz transmission line consists of 1.5cm radius. The conductors
are spaced 2m apart in an equilateral triangle. If the temperature is 40°C and
atmospheric pressure is 76cm, calculate the corona loss per km of the line. Take m 0 =
    0.85.
