Chapter III
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Introduction
This chapter presents the methods and procedures used by the researcher, the respondents of the
study, the instruments employed gathering in gathering the data, reliability of the instruments and the
statistical treatment of the collected data. The independent variables in this study is the Parental and
Educator’s Involvement while the dependent variable is the learner’s Temperamental Accomplishments.
Method of Research Used
The study employed descriptive-correlational design. Descriptive study is used to describe
characteristics of a population or phenomenon being studied the most commonly used method of
investigation in describing the principal conditions of a certain phenomenon. The present study also made
use of correlational design to estimate the extent to which the variables are related or connected to each
other in population of interest (Viscarra 2003). Through these methods, the researcher was able to
ascertain how much variation is caused by each of the independent variables to the dependent variable.
The magnitude and direction of the relationship was determined and was used for further computations to
predict the value of the dependent variable.
The questionnaire used was formulated by the researcher having only a set of questions. The
condition to which each word was assigned for a particular participant was recorded and tracked
throughout the entire of the research study. Performances within each condition were used to make
controlled comparisons of the investigated treatment.
Respondents of the Study
The respondents of this study consist of the Senior Highschool STEM Students who are enrolled
in Naujan Academy, school year 2022-2023. The respondents are composed of 20 students.
Table 1 shows the number of Senior Highschool STEM Students major respondents of this study.

In this study 28.57% of the population of Senior Highschool STEM Students will be used.
Sampling Technique Used
The researcher originally chose the Senior Highschool STEM Student department as respondents
and will be the subject of her research study. Using the voluntary sampling, the researcher selected from
people who are very much willing to participate as respondents in the research project until the
completion of the desired total number of respondents which consists of 20 respondents. The proposed
study was conducted with Senior Highschool STEM Students from Naujan Academy. The age of
individuals in the population ranged from age 15-19 years within Senior Highschool STEM Students
Department. From a list of the approximately 70 students at senior high department, a sample of 20
students was systematically selected.
Instruments Used in the Study
The instrument that will be used in this study is developed by the researcher. Self-made
questionnaire is designed to measure students’ understanding about the correlationship between parental
involvement and Learners’ Academic Achievement. On analyzing pilot study data, of parental
invovlvement to the Learners’ Academic Achievement.
All responses to be provided by the respondents will be tabulated and scored based on 4-point
numerical scale. Each point will get the corresponding verbal description.
Table 2
Interpretation of 4-point Numerical Scale
Numerical Scale Stat. Limit Description
4 3.01-4.00 Strongly Agree
3 2.01-3.00 Agree
2 1.01-2.00 Dis-Agree
1 0-1.00 Strongly Dis-Agree
Statistical Treatment of Data
The data will be treated statistically using descriptive statistics such as mean and ranking. To test
the significance of relationship, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation will be used. Results will be
analyzed and interpreted.
The following will be used in the study:
