ACTIVITY

II. OBJECTIVES : 1. To highlight women’s achievements and discuss continuing and


emerging women’s empowerment and gender equality issues and
concerns, challenges, and commitments.

: 2. Aims to educate and engage women as early adopters and recipients


of government programs and services.

: 3. To push forward gender equality and women empowerment


(GEWE).

4. To take the narrative, raise priority issues that matter to them and
call for concrete actions.

VI. HIGHLIGHTS : A. This activity is a venue to feature women’s achievements and


discuss continuing and emerging women’s empowerment and
gender equality issues and concerns, challenges, and
commitments.

B. The recurring theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive


Society” marks a juncture in the advancement of women’s
rights. This sparks a renewed commitment to the advocacy
and banks on the gains achieved during the 2016-2022 theme,
WE Make CHANGE Work for Women which emphasized the
need for compassionate ad harmonized networks towards
gender equality and women’s empowerment.

C. National Women’s Month is a celebration of Filipino


women’s power to take the narrative, raise priority issues that
matter to them and call for concrete actions.
D. Gender equality shows that people should be treated equal
and get the dignity and respect they deserve despite their
gender preferences.

E. We need a world that recognizes, accepts and celebrates


diversity regardless of any distinction, including sexual
orientation, gender identity and gender expression.

VII. ISSUES AND


RECOMMENDATIONS We are enjoined to pursue the common vision of inspiring and
empowering women and girls to be agents of change and contribute to
promoting gender equality and the empowerment of all women.
Empowering women enables them to confidently and meaningfully
engage with appropriate institutions to ensure they contribute to and
benefit from development and changes, Thus, women’s empowerment
will make the change that we are espousing or any development effort
responsive to women’s concerns.
