Class Dedication

We dedicate this undertaking wholeheartedly to the Grade 12


HUMSS Batch 2022-2023 for our effort and perseverance to learn
something that is beneficial to our community and in our
personal growth as a person in dealing with the changing society.
Most importantly to our dear parents who always understand us
in all aspects of student life and of course to our second parents,
our teachers who encourage us to chase our dreams as well as
our friends and inspiration to make all this possible.
Summary

The Grade 12 In-School Youth Seminar Workshop aims to identify the needs of the
Grade 7 to Grade 11 (6 participants per grade level), to enhance student’s sense of
shared identity and willingness to contribute to the pursuit of the common good of
the community and to enable them to integrate applied social sciences into
community-action initiatives.

It tackles about the racial equality and gender inequality based on the community
assessment conducted by the students of grade 12 as part of the subject
Community Engagement, Solidarity and Citizenship (CESC)

The said activity went well starting from the seminar proper up to the game part
and we believe that they learned something from us even if there are flaws which
needs to be improve by the next batch of HUMSS students if this activity will be
repeated.
Community Profile

History of Laiban

The natives who fish at the foot of the mountain like to sew on fire
because of the cold climate that is why their clothes made of tree bark they
have to sew on fire or sew to fit their clothes body and dry it. According to
the story at dawn while the natives were walking, some people passed by
while the natives walking and asked what the name of the place was but
because the natives did not understand, they thought about what they were
asking. So they do it, “Laib” replied that after some time they became Laib.

Community Need Assessment Results

Based on the community needs assessment result conducted on January 9,


2023, Gender Inequality is the most pressing problems that the youth in
the community need to address. With 7 people respondents out of 16
respondents. Other concerns are stated below:

1. Racial Equality
2. Online addiction
3. Poverty
4. Family problem
5. Juvenile delinquency
6. Teenage pregnancy
7. Drug addiction
8. Transportation
Introduction to the Plan

Community Outreach Program is a project of Grade 12 HUMSS Batch


2022-2023 of Laiban Integrated School under the collaboration of the
subject Community Engagement, Solidarity and Citizenship (CESC),
Understanding Culture, Society and Politics (UCSP), English for Academic
and Professional Purposes (EAPP). This program will conduct on January
19,2023 through seminar workshop. The participants of this program,
chosen from Grade 7 to 11 respectively.

The purpose of this program is to inform the participants regarding


Racial Equality and Gender Inequality, and give them some knowledge and
lesson in their perspective in life.

How the Plan was Developed

The plan was developed through a series of discussion in the subject


Community Engagement, Solidarity and Citizenship (CESC), Understanding
Culture, Society and Politics (UCSP), English for Academic and Professional
Purposes (EAPP). Then we write a concept paper as a guide to formulate
community action plan, which will be use as group requirement. Lastly, the
conduct of the community action plan will be devoted to community
outreach program.

The collaboration is made possible by minimizing the individual


performance task of the students in different sub topics in one big
performance task.
Who was involved in the Implementation of the Plan

In the conduct of the program, there are three teachers involve namely
Ma. Cristina M. San Pablo, Aira Pearl Y. Aliwalas, and Rafael R. Buella. The
Grade 12 as the main initiator who will craft the plan based on their series
of survey and assessment as well as the participants of this endeavor
activity from Junior High School (Grade 7 to Grade 10) and Grade 11 from
senior high school. It was also approved by the school principal Dr. Ernesto
B. Bernabeo III, PhD and Mr. Kenneth C. Ferrer who happen to be the
administrators that time.

Who will manage the Implementation of the Plan

The implementation of the plan will be managed solely by the Grade


12 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) for Academic Year 2022-2023.
This activity is also supervised by our teachers in the Senior High School
Department.

Problems Met During the Implementation

The following are the observed problems during the implementation of the
In-School Youth Seminar-Workshop:

 motivational activity to catch up the participants


 Preparedness of the facilitator particularly the content of the
topic
 Unreadable sentence due to small font size of the slide
 Lack of active participation
 Fast facing of the discussion which cause loading
comprehension
 Delayed follow up questions
 Slide is too wordy
 No engaging activity related to the topic
 In the game portion of the activity, no reflection about the
discussion
 Laborious games
 Unclear mechanics of the game
 Some implementors are unattended
 Lack of authentic receipts
Proposed Suggestions/Recommendations

Based on the problem encounter by the Grade 12, the following are the
proposed recommendations:

1. Check the power point slide to be presented in advance


2. Prepare motivational activity
3. Conduct a pre-implementation
4. Consult and demonstrate the game to the teacher
5. Coordinate the teacher in the mechanics and flow of the program for
the power point presentation
6. Make sure to get a copy of receipts for the breakdown of expenses
7. 100 percent full participation is fully encouraged
