Introduction
Communicant: Our Dear parents, brothers and sisters in Christ.
This is the day that we will accept Jesus’s gift of
Himself to us as our food, the BREAD OF LIFE, for
the first time. We are happy because you are here
with us today to celebrate this meaningful event in
our lives. May this Eucharistic celebration be an
experience of love, life, joy and peace for us all.
COMMENTATOR: With great joy, let us all stand and join our Presider,
REV. FR. ROMMEL FELIZARDO, our SCHOOL
CHAPLAIN in worshiping the Lord in the opening
hymn.
ENTRANCE HYMN: I WILL SING FOREVER
I will sing forever of Your love, O Lord
I will celebrate the wonder of Your name
For the word that You speak is a song of forgiveness
And a song of gentle mercy and of peace
Let us wake at the morning and be filled with Your love
And sing songs of praise all our days
For Your love is as high as the heavens above us
And Your faithfulness as certain as the dawn
I will sing forever of Your love, O Lord
For You are my refuge and my strength
You fill the world with Your life-giving spirit
That speaks Your word
Your word of mercy and of peace
And I will sing forever of Your love, O Lord
Yes I will sing forever of Your love, O Lord
FR. ROMMEL : In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit.

ALL: I CONFESS TO ALMIGHTY GOD and to you, my brothers
and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and
in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed
to do…through my fault, through my fault, through my most
grievous fault…therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and
sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.
FR. ROMMEL: May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins
and bring us to everlasting life.
ALL: AMEN.

LITURGY OF THE WORD
COMMENTATOR: Please be seated to listen to the Word of God.
FIRST READING: A Reading from the Book of Hebrew
Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of God Most High,
met Abraham as he returned from his defeat of the kings
and blessed him.
And Abraham apportioned to him a tenth of everything.
His name first means righteous king,
and he was also "king of Salem," that is, king of peace.
Without father, mother, or ancestry,
without beginning of days or end of life,
thus made to resemble the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.
It is even more obvious if another priest is raised up
after the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become so,
not by a law expressed in a commandment concerning physical descent
but by the power of a life that cannot be destroyed.
For it is testified:
You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
THE WORD OF THE LORD.
ALL: THANKS BE TO GOD.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Response: Ang Panginoon ang aking pastol
Hindi ako magkukulang
Ako ay kanyang pinagpapahinga
Sa mainam niyang pastulan.
Inakay ako sa tahimik na batis
At dulot niya'y bagong lakas
Tapat sa pangakong
Ako'y sasamahan niya

Daan ma'y puno ng dilim o ligalig
Hindi ako mangangamba
Tungkod mo't pamalo

COMMENTATOR: Let us all stand to honor the Gospel.
ALL: ALLELUIA! (To be sung)
Antiphon: Jesus preached the Gospel of the Kingdom
and cured every disease among the people.
FR. ROMMEL: The Lord be with you.
ALL: AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT.
FR. ROMMEL: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Mark
ALL: GLORY TO YOU, O LORD.
Jesus entered the synagogue.
There was a man there who had a withered hand.
They watched Jesus closely
to see if he would cure him on the sabbath
so that they might accuse him.
He said to the man with the withered hand,
"Come up here before us."
Then he said to the Pharisees,
"Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil,
to save life rather than to destroy it?"
But they remained silent.
Looking around at them with anger
- 4-
and grieved at their hardness of heart,
Jesus said to the man, "Stretch out your hand."
He stretched it out and his hand was restored.
The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel
with the Herodians against him to put him to death.
THE GOSPEL OF OUR SALVATION.
ALL: PRAISE TO YOU, O LORD JESUS CHRIST.

RENEWAL OF BAPTISMAL PROMISES
(First Communicants)
COMMENTATOR: Dear children, during your baptism you received the
light of Christ through your parents. The candle that
you will receive is the Light of Christ. Keep them
for they will guide your paths.
PARENT: Our Dear Children, receive the light that comes from this
candle just like the light you received when you are
baptized. Always keep in mind and heart that Jesus Christ,
the Son of God and our Savior is our guide through our
journey called life.
(The Parents will be the first to light the candle from the Paschal Candle and then
give the lighted candles to their children.)
(Background song: sing the “Little Candle” while lighting the candles.)
“LITTLE CANDLE”
It is better to light
Just one little candle than to stumble in the dark
Better far that you light just one little candle
All you need I tiny spark
If we all say a prayer that the world would be free
A wonderful dawn of a new day we’d see
And if everyone lit just one little candle
What a bright world this would be.
When the day is dark and dreary
And we know not where to go;
Don't let your heart go weary,
Just keep this thought in mind...
It is better to light just one little candle
Than to stumble in the dark.
Better far that you light just one little candle,
All you need is a tiny spark.
If we'd all say a prayer that the world would be free,
A wonderful dawn of a new day we'd see...
And if everyone lit just one little candle,
- 6-
What a bright world this would be.
(FR. ROMMEL will resume the renewal of promises when all the candles are
lighted.)
FR. ROMMEL: Dear children, you are going to renew your
baptismal promises. On the day of your Baptism you were
asked: “Do you renounce Satan?” You were too small
then, to answer for yourselves. Instead, your parents and
godparents answered for you.
Today, Mother Church will ask you the same
questions, and this time, you will make the promises
yourselves with your whole hearts and minds. Be ready to
answer in faith.
FR. ROMMEL: Do you believe in GOD, THE FATHER ALMIGHTY,
CREATOR OF HEAVEN and EARTH?
CHILDREN: I do believe.
FR. ROMMEL: Do you believe in JESUS CHRIST, His only Son,
our Lord, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered, died
and was buried and rose from the dead, and sits at
the right hand of the Father?
CHILDREN: I do believe.
FR. ROMMEL: Do you believe in the HOLY SPIRIT?
CHILDREN: I do believe.
FR. ROMMEL: Do you believe in the HOLY CATHOLIC CHURCH,
the COMMUNION OF SAINTS, the
FORGIVENESS of SINS, the RESURRECTION of
the body and life everlasting?
CHILDREN: I do believe.
- 7-
FR. ROMMEL: Do you believe that in HOLY COMMUNION, you
receive the BODY and BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST,
the LIVING GOD?
CHILDREN: I do believe.
FR. ROMMEL: Do you promise to obey what the church teaches?
CHILDREN: I do promise.
FR. ROMMEL: God, the All-Powerful Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, has given us a new birth by water and the
Holy Spirit, and forgiven all our sins.
May He also keep us faithful to our Lord Jesus
Christ forever and ever.
CHILDREN: AMEN.
(FR. ROMMEL will go around sprinkling the communicants with Holy Water while
singing the “Isang Pananampalataya”)
“ISANG PANANAMPALATAYA”
KORO:
Isang pananampalataya, isang pagbibinyag
Isang Panginoon, angkinin nating lahat.
Habilin ni Hesus noong Siya’y lumisan
Kayo ay magkatipon sa pagmamahalan. (koro)
Ama pakinggan Mo ang aming panalangin
Dalisay na pag-ibig sa ami’y lumapit. (koro)
Mga alagad Ko pa’no makikilala
Tapat nilang pag-ibig wala nang iba pa. (koro)

PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL
FR. ROMMEL:God the Father manifested his power and salvation of
mankind. He chose and blessed Mary to be the Mother of Jesus, the
Savior. Mary responded to the sublime will of the Father. She freely
accepted to be the instrument of salvation for humankind. In the spirit of
Mary’s firm trust in the will of the Father, let us pray:
YOUR WILL, FOR US, BE DONE.
COMMENTATOR: YOUR WILL, FOR US, BE DONE.
1. For all Christians the world over, like the Virgin Mary, may they
know and follow the will of God the Father so they may share Jesus with
their fellow beings. We pray to you, Father… (RESPONSE)
2. For all people the world over, like the Virgin Mary, may they value
life and respect the right of everyone to live, so they may offer to God a
clean and unblemished life. We pray to you, Father…… (RESPONSE)
3. For all married people the world over, like the Virgin Mary, may
they reflect in their lives the duties and obligations they solemnly
assumed in the Sacrament of Matrimony. Keep them true to their vows;
enable them to make their children constantly pleasing to God. We pray
to you, Father… (RESPONSE)
4. For our parents, like the Virgin Mary, may you entrust to them the
task of forming people with a holy fear of you. Strengthen the families
striving to live faithfully according to your laws so they may be little
reminders of your care. We pray to you, Father...… (RESPONSE)
5. For all of us here gathered, like the Virgin Mary, may purity of
mind and action be a constant quality of our life so that we may be able to
acknowledge the true will of God and serve him, as Mary did, totally and
faithfully. We pray to you, Father… (RESPONSE)
6. We pray also that we may see in the offering of bread and wine,
our own responsibility to offer ourselves to our fellow beings, especially
the poor and the oppressed, for the glory of God, we pray to you Father…
(RESPONSE)
- 9-
FR. ROMMEL: Our loving Father, you are constant and true in your
promises. You blessed Mary for her unconditional response to you. You
made her our Mother, too. Make her watch over us with the same love
and care that she gave her Son so we may obtain the graces we need in
our life. This we ask through Jesus our Lord.
ALL: AMEN.
LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST
COMMENTATOR: Please be seated for the Offertory.
OFFERTORY HYMN: CHRISTIFY
Christify the gifts we bring to You,

Take and bless the work of our hands.
Christify these gifts at Your command.
Sun and moon and earth and wind and rain:
all the world's contained in every grain.
All the toil and dreams of humankind,

Turn the bread and wine, our hearts implore,
to the living presence of the Lord.
Blessed and broken, shared with all in need;
all our hungers, sacred bread will feed
COMMENTATOR: Let us all stand.

all His holy church.

FR. ROMMEL: Lift up your hearts.

FR.ROMMEL: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
ALL: IT IS RIGHT AND JUST.
FR. ROMMEL:It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always
and everywhere to give You thanks, Lord, holy Father,
almighty and eternal God, and to praise, bless, and glorify
Your name on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception
of the Blessed ever-Virgin Mary.
You allowed no stain of Adam’s sin to touch the Virgin
Mary.
Full of grace, she was to be a worthy mother of your Son,
Your sign of favor to the Church at its beginning, and the
promise of its perfection as the bride of Christ, radiant in
beauty.
Purest of virgins, she was to bring forth Your Son, the
innocent lamb who takes away our sins. You chose her
from all women to be our advocate with You and our
pattern of holiness.
And so, with the Angels and all the Saints, we proclaim
your glory, as with one voice we acclaim:
- 11-

but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
HOLY COMMUNION HYMN
“The Face of God”
Refrain:
To see the face of God is my heart’s desire
To gaze upon the Lord is my one desire
For God so loved the world.
He gave His Son, His only begotten Son
And they shall call Him Emmanuel
The Prince of peace, the hope of all the world.
Emmanuel, Emmanuel, Emmanuel
“At Home In Our Hearts”
You who welcomed Christ into your home
You who must have washed the Savior's feet
Are truly blest, you who fed the Lord when weary and
Forlorn
Blest are you who served the Lord's needs
You with whom He shared His wondrous deeds
You to whom He bared His broken dreams
Are truly blest, you whom Jesus sought before His lonely End
Blest are you whom Jesus called His friend
- 13-
REFRAIN:
And so we pray, now and always
That we might serve the Lord as selflessly
By feeding those in need, their woes making our own
In our hearts may Jesus find a home
You who begged the Lord to raise His friend
You who knew our death He would amend
Are truly blest, You whom Jesus heard say, "You are the Messiah
The Son of God who comes into the world!" (REFRAIN)
