10th BACCALAUREATE MASS

CALL TO WORSHIP

Commentator:

Today is a very special day for the young women and men gathered here this afternoon
together with their parents, teachers and friends. Graduation rites always makes us remember
God’s blessing over the years, not only the past 3 or 6 years spent at the Thrice Admirable
Montessori School, but all the many years of caring and nurturing which members of families do
for one another. So, it is a time of remembering. It is a time of expressing gratitude and love.
It is a time of appreciation for those who have taught us how to live. So, with joy, we join
the graduates today who have come to proclaim the goodness and kindness of our God.

OPENING SONG:
Sing a New Song unto the Lord
(Chorus)

Sing a new song unto the Lord;

Let your song be sung from mountains high
Sing a new song unto the Lord
Singing alleluia

Yahweh's people dance for joy

O come before the Lord
And play for him on glad tambourines
And let your trumpet sound
(Chorus)

Rise, O children, from your sleep;

Your Savior now has come
He has turned your sorrow to joy
And filled your soul with song
(Chorus)

Glad my soul for I have seen

The glory of the Lord
The trumpet sounds; the dead shall be raised
I know my Savior lives
(Chorus)

Presider: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
All: Amen.
Presider: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Love of God, and the communion of
the Holy Spirit be with you all.
All: And with your spirit.
Presider: We gather today with hearts full of gratitude and joy to celebrate the end as well
as the beginning of a new phase in life of these young women and
men. As we remember God’s goodness and mercy, let us now recall our faults and
failures in acknowledging God’s bountiful love.
We turn to God and trust in his forgiving love.
All: I confess to almighty God and to you my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly
sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have
failed to do,
(Strike Your Chest)
Through my fault, through my fault, through my grievous fault;
Therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my
brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.
Presider: May almighty God cleanse us of our sins, and through the celebration of this
Eucharist make us worthy to share at the table of his kingdom.
All: Amen.
KYRIE:
Kyrie eleison
Lord have mercy
Ginoo kaloy-I, kaawa-an mo kami
Christe eleison
Christ have mercy
Kristo kaloy-i, kaawa-an mo
Kyrie eleison
Lord have mercy
Ginoo kaloy-I, kaawa-an mo kami

ENTRANCE ANTIPHON
Presider: Lord, you rescue me from raging enemies, you lift me up above my attackers,
you deliver me from violent men.
OPENING PRAYER:
Presider: Let us pray. Lord, God, we gather this day to proclaim your love and care which
has touched us all: students, teachers, parents and all those who have journeyed
with our graduates the past years. We praise and thank you for your fidelity. We
praise and thank you for your steadfast and forgiving love. We stand before you
now gratefully aware of a God who calls us to a mission of sharing life and love
with others. And so, as we ask you to bless this moment of thanksgiving. We also
pray that you hear the prayers of your repentant children who call on you in love.
Enlighten our minds and sanctify our hearts. We ask this through our Lord Jesus
Christ, your Son who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit one God,
forever and ever.

FIRST READING:
A reading from Jeremiah 7:23-28
Thus says the LORD: This is what I commanded my people: Listen to my
voice; then I will be your God and you shall be my people. Walk in all the ways
that I command you, so that you may prosper:
But they obeyed not, nor did they pay heed. They walked in the hardness
of their evil hearts and turned their backs, not their faces, to me. From the day that
your fathers left the land of Egypt even to this day, I have sent you untiringly all
my servants the prophets. Yet they have not obeyed me nor paid heed; they have
stiffened their necks and done worse than their fathers. When you speak all these
words to them, they will not listen to them either; when you call to them: they will
not answer you. Say to them: This is the nation that does not listen to the voice of
the Lord, its God, or take correction. Faithfulness has disappeared; the word itself
is banished from their speech.
This is the word of the Lord.
All: Thanks be to God.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM:

HOMILY
Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute, and when the demon had gone out, the
mute person spoke and the crowds were amazed. Some of them said, “ By the power of
Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he drives out demons.” Others, to test him, asked him for a
sign from heaven. But he knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against
itself will be laid waste and house will fall against house. And if Satan is divided against himself,
how will his kingdom stand? For you say that it is by Beelzebul that I drive out demons. If I then,
drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your own people drive them out? Therefore they
will be your judges. But if it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons, then the Kingdom of
God has come upon you. When a strong man fully armed guards his place, his possession are
safe. But when one stronger that he attacks and overcomes him, he takes away the armor on
which he relied and distributes the spoils. Whoever is not which me is against me, and whoever
does not gather with me scatters.”
Profession of Faith
All: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus
Christ, his only son, our Lord. Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, Virgin
Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He
descended into hell, on the third day he rose again from dead; he ascended into
heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the father almighty; from there he
will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy
Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. AMEN.

Hosanna in the highest,

Presider: You are Indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness Make holy, therefore, these
gifts, we pray, by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that
they may become for us the Body & Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ. At the time
he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread and, giving
thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying:
“Take this all of you and eat it. This is my body which will be given up for you.’
In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and, once more
giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying:
“ Take this all of you, and drink from it:;for this is the chalice of my blood, the
blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for
many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me. ”

Yet are awed by all that remains unknown.
Encourage us always to dwell among those
