schools across New Mexico to meet the need of their student populations.

All the materials reviewed (TE, SE, online course) were all very thoughtfully created and organized, adhering to the high standards required in New
Mexico. The reviewed materials include a diverse selection of print, audio and video texts that are rich and engaging. The TE, SE and online course are
all equipped with a full collection of easily accessible resources that have been carefully chosen to represent the content in alignment with the
standards.
Questions in the materials are high-quality text-dependent and text-specific questions. The overwhelming majority of these questions are text-specific
and draw student attention to the particulars in the text.

The SE and online course materials contain text-specific questions and activities, and require students to interact with different genres of texts.
Students learn to use various strategies to become strong readers of Spanish, with supports offered within the printed materials and the online course.

The materials reviewed met all criteria in regards to scaffolding and supports as evidenced by the well-organized, clearly outlined plan of study, and a
scope and sequence that illustrates how this set of level 2 materials fits in with the entire sequence of materials offered by this publisher. The TE
provides learning and language objectives that are clearly stated at the beginning of each unit, and provided with assessments and tools to measure
student learning.

the cover page of each unit. The materials follow a natural progression toward building proficiency that will carry students through the various levels
offered in secondary schools and will suitingly prepare them for any post-secondary language courses.

Language & Culture, Spanish for Heritage Speakers 2), Bilingual Program Site Coordinator at a NM high school, BA in Secondary Education--

The materials reviewed were found to meet all standards and criteria required to be considered high quality. The materials are well organized and
cohesive, using features such as color coding to help students and teachers orient themselves in each unit and each lesson. The materials include a
diverse collection of resources and rich, authentic texts. The online component that is offered as part of this collection is well put together, user-
friendly and allows for students to take ownership of their own learning by providing tools for self-reflection and progress monitoring. The resources
that are available to teachers are fully comprehensive and can be used as a singular curriculum for the appropriately leveled course. Within the
materials, activities are designed to provide opportunities for expansion and investigation, allowing students to connect with the "real-world" outside

Level II Teacher: B.A in Spanish with an endorsement in Bilingual Education K-12. Master's in Educational Technology. I teach Spanish Language Arts
levels 1-4, AP Spanish Language and Culture and Spanish 1. I have been teaching for 32 years.
Professional summary of material:
Senderos level 2 is well organized and considered high quality material. The materials in each lesson offer abundant leveled practice for all learners
with very specific and clear to follow objectives. Senderos 2 presents students to the culture and language of the Spanish-speaking world in six
manageable units that include contextos, fotonovelas, cultura, estructura, and adelante. Each lesson provides flexibility and pacing options to
differentiate instruction and to motivate students into learning the Spanish language and culture.

Background and experience:
I have a Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics, and MA in Hispanic Lettres and a BA in Letras. I retired from teaching in higher education for many years. I now
hold a Level III-Instructional Coach/Certified teacher license to teach Modern/Classical (Spanish). I also have endorsements in Bilingual Education,
TESOL, Social Studies and History. I teach high school students now: Spanish to heritage and native speakers and as a second language. I also teach
Chican@/Ethnic Studies. I am working on an endorsement in Special Education.

Senderos Level 2 is carefully crafted and well-organized. Materials are presented in a coherent, student-friendly manner. The online course offers
additional resources for students and instructors that include interactive pre-recorded listening activities, a variety of texts, images, maps, illustrations,
reading, writing and cultural information. Videos taken in numerous Spanish-speaking countries allow students to see and hear native speakers in their
own environment. Assessments for all four skills are available online and students can self-monitor their progress with a "Can-do" self-evaluation tool.
Teachers have teaching tips that facilitate learning by heritage speakers, special education students, and English language learners. Pre-AP materials
