4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory Activity GROUP TASK. The class is grouped into 5. Each group is
given a puzzle. Each group assembles the puzzle to reveal the
5 minutes topic of the day.
4.2 Activity Each group will be given an Activity Sheet. ( see appendix 2).
They are going to complete the table by multiplying the given
10 minutes expressions.
4.3 Analysis What do you notice from the product? What is the
relationship of the expressions that you multiply to the
5 minutes product? Describe the factors. What is the relationship
between the first term and the second of the factors to the
first term and second term of the product? How do we factor
difference of two squares.
4.4 Abstraction Conduct whole class discussion about factoring difference of
two squares
10 minutes Remember that the factored form of a polynomial which is a
difference of two squares is the sum and difference of the
square roots of the first and last terms.
4.5 Application SHOWDOWN. Teacher reads questions. Each group is given
time to answer. When the teacher says SHOWDOWN,
students will be going to raise their answers written in the
10 minutes tagboard.
