2. PLUNGER CHECK PROCEDURE
2.1 Secure the elevator system
• Ensure the car is empty
• Move the car up to the top floor and close the door • Position the counterweight on the buffer. • Switch off the main switch JH. • Release the brake briefly with the manual release lever to make sure that the counterweight is positioned on the buffer. • Don’t modify the existing brake spring settings. This presentation is the intellectual property of Schindler Management Ltd. It may only be used for internal purposes. It must not be communicated to third parties.

2.2 Check the Plunger
• Remove the top cover
• Disassemble and move slightly the assembly of switch • Remove plunger
Check if there is stepped-type wear on plunger rod. The step could occur on level where the rod is in contact of solenoid bushing. See the picture below.
Attention: In case of diameter difference > 0.4 mm between the worn and original part of the rod REPLACE THE PLUNGER IMMEDIATELLY
2.3 Reassemble the plunger
• Install the Leather washer.
• Install the switch assembly
2.4 Brake Adjustment
• Adjust the brake according to OEM manual.
• Check the friction noise between brake drum and linings. • Perform a brake efficiency test.
