THE PROBLEM AND ITS SETTINGS
Introduction
Most students are stressed, and this stress can have a negative impact on their health,
happiness, and academic performance teen stress levels are comparable to adult stress levels.
means teens are experiencing significant levels of chronic stress, and that they feel their levels of
stress generally exceed their ability to cope effectively.
Students are exposed to a wide range of potentially stressful events in their everyday
academic lives which can have a detrimental impact on their academic performance and health.
Expectations of self-efficacy which are regarded one of the most significant variables for student
engagement perseverance and academic achievement have been identified as one of the elements
that may be affected by academic stress. Academic stress research has stressed the relevance of
coping methods in avoiding negative outcomes from occurring
Background of the study
Students are subjected to a wide range of academic and non-academic obligations that
might negatively impact their well-being. Academic challenges include adjusting to a new
environment, overworking, not having enough time to complete academic activities, preparing
for and taking tests, and feeling under pressure to perform.
The purpose of the study was to find out the significance of health education strategies
for coping with academic stress. Comprehensive health education strategies for coping with
academic stress can help students obtain the greatest benefits from education and become healthy
and productive adults. One child out of four has an emotional, social, or physical health
limitation that interferes with learning. Such problems include poor nutrition, lack of physical
activity, substance abuse, family and social violence, mental health problems, and factors during
pregnancy affect child development. Teachers and parents are in a unique position to influence
young people’s physical, mental, and social media well-being. The following sections of this
report summarize strategies that can be used by academic centers, parents, and students to
alleviate academic stress.
Statement of the problem
This research aimed to know the effective self-management approaches for minimizing academic
stress of grade 11 students in Leon Guinto memorial college Inc.
Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions:

2. What is the effective self-management approaches for minimizing academic stress of grade
11 students in Leon Guinto memorial college Inc. in terms of:

Significance of the study
The finding of this study will be beneficial of the following:
Students- The students are the most benefited to this study as they will gain a proper knowledge
to how will they minimized their stress.
Parent- They will be able to know and learn how to guide their children in the right way.
Teachers- It will help teachers in learning how to interact and handle their students.
Future Researchers - This would help the future researchers to be a better researcher and it can
be a help as a future reference for more studies in the future.
Scope and Limitation
This study primarily focused on effective self management aproaches on academic stress of
Grade 11 HUMMS students of Leon Guinto Memorial College Inc. and its effect towards their academic
performance school year 2021-2022. . The respondents of this study are the selected Senior High
School Students from Grade 11 HUMMS of Leon Guinto Memorial College, Inc.
Definition of terms
The terms below are conceptually and operationally defined to give better
understanding and knowledge about the research:
Student- a person enrolled in a school or other educational institution; a person who studies at
Leon Guinto Memorial College Inc.
Academic stress -the body's response to academic-related demands that exceed adaptive
capabilities of students.
self-management- the ability to regulate one's emotions, thoughts, and behaviors effectively in
different situations.

METHODOLOGY
Research Locale
This study was conducted at Leon Guinto Memorial College Inc. located in Atimonan, Quezon
since the chosen respondents are students of the school.
Respondents
The respondents were Senior High School students from Leon Guinto Memorial College Atimonan
Quezon. The study is focused on how self management approaches in minimizing academic stress of the
grade 11 students wherein the respondents from thes chool are chosen as they experience academic
stress.
