MIDTERM TEST CLASSROOM ACTION RESEARCH

1. Describe the similarities and the deferences between Classroom Action Research and
Experimental Research.
Answer :
The similarities between Classroom Action Research and Experimental Research.
They both perform treatment to change/produce subjects, place the research subject as a
source of information under study, is a research method where researchers have to go into the
field (class) to do treatment and obtain data, research methods that use tests and
questionnaires as a research instrument, the results of the two studies can be used as a
reference by the teacher in carrying out learning activities or as a guide to improve the quality
of history learning in the classroom.

- The deference between Classroom Action Research and Experimental Research.

Action Research is a continuous, cyclical and systematic process of reflecting, evaluating,
and improving the quality of professional practices and methodologies that are specific to a
field or immediate environment. Action Research, seeks localized strategies for specific
issues, providing answers that impact and enhance all the people involved in the research.
Action Research seeks to close the culture gap and close the distance between scientist and
practitioner. The stages or levels in action research are as follows: identifying a common
concern or issue, action planning, implementing, evaluating, reflecting, and self-evaluating.
Example: Used in education, organisation, teachers responsibility, employees motivation,
students commitment etc.

While experimental research is a very systematic process that demands a standard scientific
method. First, we identified a problem, formed a question, did the research, and then predict
an answer to our question in the form of a hypothesis. Next, we performed some experiments
that caused us to analyze the data to see if it backed up our claim. This research involves
comparisons of variables under manipulated conditions in lab or controlled environment.
Example: physics, chemistry, engineering these discipline involves applied experimental
research.
