Installing DCPromo (Server PC)
1. Click Start ---> Type DCpromo on the search bar
2. Wait for the program to load ---> then click NEXT
3. Click NEXT ---> Choose create a new Domain in a forest ----> NEXT
4. Write mdc.com --> NEXT ---> wait while the computer checks
5. click NEXT ---> NEXT --> NEXT ---> click YES ---> NEXT
6. Type your PASSWORD: P@ssw0rd and confirm your password --> NEXT -->
NEXT
7. Wait while the computer writes (this takes a long time)
8. Click FINISH --> click RESTART NOW (the computer will restart)
9. Log-in your administrator account
Adding New Organizational Unit (MNHS) to your Domain:
1. click SERVER ICON next to your START button
2. Features (click + symbol) ---> Group Policy Management (+) --> Forest (+)
3. Domains (+) ---> mdc.com (+)
4. right+click mdc.com ---> NEW ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT
5. type MNHS --> click OK
Adding NEW USER to your MNHS
1. click ROLES (+) --> Active Directory (+) --> Active Directory users and
computers (+) ---> mdc.com (+)
2. right+click MNHS --> highlight NEW ---> select USER
3. Fill up the needed information
4. Use your firstname on the User Logon Name: ---> click NEXT
5. Type password: P@ssw0rd
6. Uncheck User must change --> check Password never expires --> NEXT -->
FINISH
Enrolling new user to your CLIENT PC
1. Click START --> right+click COMPUTER --> choose PROPERTIES
2. click CHANGE SETTINGS ---> click CHANGE
3. select DOMAIN: and type mdc.com on the text bar
4. click OK --> fill in your Administrator and P@ssw0rd ---> click OK
5. Welcome to the mdc.com domain should appear if successful
6. click restart ---> click RESTART NOW (your pc will now restart)
7. once the computer start click SWITCH USER --> OTHER USER
8. type the new user you created username: (firstname) and password:
P@ssw0rd
CREATING FOLDER REDIRECTION
1. click START --> click COMPUTER --> open DRIVE D:
2. right+click --> NEW --> FOLDER --> name the folder REDIRECTION
3. right+click redirection folder --> PROPERTIES
4. click SHARING TAB --> share --> on drop-down menu choose EVERYONE -->
click ADD
5. change reader to Co-Owner --> click Share --> DONE
6. Advance Sharing --> check SHARE THIS FOLDER --> PERMISSIONS
6. double check if ALLOW is all checked --> click OK
7. highlight all the network path --> then COPY --> CLOSE
8. click server manager --> Feature (+) --> Group Policy Management (+)
9. Forest (+) --> Domains (+) ---> mdc.com (+)
10. mdc.com --> select CREATE A GPO IN THE DOMAIN
11. name the GPO: Redirection --> OK
12. Right+click Redirection --> EDIT
13. Under User configuration --> Policies (+) --> Windows Settings (+)
14. Folder Redirection --> right+click DESKTOP --> choose PROPERTIES
15. Setting drop down menu choose: Basic - Redirect
16. Paste your Network Path
17. SETTINGS: check all check boxes --> APPLY --> OK
18. click START on your SERVER and CLIENT PC type gpupdate /force to the
search bar ---> ENTER
19. if asked to log-off? press Y on your Keyboard --> ENTER
20. After you're logged-out, log-in again and restart your computer
21. Go to your DRIVE: D --> Open your REDIRECTION FOLDER --> open your
username
22. Open DESKTOP --> click CONTINUE --> CLICK SECURITY TAB
23. click CONTINUE --> select ADMINISTRATORS ---> APPLY --> OK ---> OK --->
OK --> CLOSE
24. Open DESKTOP --> Click CONTINUE
