Open the Server Manager Roles and Add roles
   1. Install Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS)
      Click roles
      Add roles
      Click server roles
      Click the box of Active Directory Domain Services
      Click install
      Wait until finished
      Read the Blue Print
      Click close
   2. DNS Server
      Click start
      Type D C promo.exe
      Click automatically
      Check the box of DNS
      Click next
      Click create
      Click next
      Create a domain name in a new forest (ex. sir. local)
      Click next
      Change the level into windows 2008
      Click next, next
      Click yes. Next
      Type the password (password)
      Then retype password (password)
      Click next, next
      Click the box
      Reboot
      Will automatically restart
   3. DHCP
      Click roles
      Click add roles
      Click server role
      Click the box of the DHCP server
      Then next, next, next
      Click validate
      Click next
      Tick win is not required
      Click next
      Add or edit DHCP scope
      Click add
      Add scope
      Type scope name (ex.sirscope)
      Type staring IP address ( ex. 192.168.10.20)
      Type ending IP address (ex. 192.168.10.40)
      Subnet mask (255.255.255.0)
      Default gateway (192.168.10.1)
      Click ok
      Then next
      Click disable (ver. 6)
      Then click next, next
      Click install
      Wait till finish
      Click close
OBTAINING
      Obtain the IP address of the desktop and laptop
      Click LAN Icon
      Click Local Area Connection
      Click obtain
      Ok, then close
      Close
JOINING
*After obtaining join to the Domain
Go to client (2007)
Right click the computer
Click properties
Click change setting
Then click change
Change computer name (ex. Desktop)
Click domain
Type the domain name (sir.local)
Click ok
Windows security
Username (administrator)
Password (administrator)
Click ok
Restart the server (2008)
(If error check the windows firewall)
Restart the client (2007)
Right click computer
Computer name/ domain change
Click ok
Restart, ok
Click close
Restart now
Computer will automatically restart
Go to laptop
Right click computer
Click properties
Change setting
Change computer name (laptop)
Type domain name (sir.local)
Click ok
User Name: administrator
Password: administrator
Click ok, and then close
Restart now the client

Log on to 2008
CREATING USERS
Start
Click administrative tools
Click Active directory Users and Computers
Then expand the domain name
Then new
Click organizational Unit (CSS)
Click ok/highlight
Right the open space
Click new
Click user
Username- 1st name (user1)
Click next
Password: (password)
Uncheck the 1st box
Check the 2nd & 3rd box
Click finish
Create user 2 (same as to user 1)
Close
Back to server manager (2008)
   4. Installing Terminal Services
Click roles
Add roles
Click next, next
Click the box of terminal services
Click install server anyway
Next, next, next
click do not required
Next, next
Click add
Type user
Click check name
Choose user 1
Click ok, ok, next
Then install
Wait until installation is finish
Click close

Ctrl alt delete
Username: administrator

Type “secpol.msc”

Click User Right Assignment

Then install
Close
Create folder
Right click, properties
Click sharing, share
Everyone, click add
Reader (co-owner)

Apply ok, apply ok then close
Click Start

Expand forest
Expand domain name
Expand domain name (sir,local)
Right click Organizational Unit (CSS)
Crete a GPO
New group (CSS)
Choose none, ok
Click the Organizational Unit
Right click GPO
Then edit
Expand other “user config”
Expand policies
Click Windows Setting
Folder Redirection
Right click Desktop
Click properties
Setting- choose Basis
Root path: name of computer and name of folder ex. (\\server \CSS)
Apply, yes, then ok

Close, close
Back to 2007
Log off client
Back to server
Press Ctrl – R key, type cmd
Type GPupdate/force
Close
Go to client (2007)
Change user1
(If the folder is empty restart client and server)
Open the folder
Open user1
Right click desktop
Click properties
Click security
Continue
Type admin, check names
Click administrators
Ok, ok, apply
Ok, then ok
Continue
Click add
Type admin, check name
Click Administrators, ok then ok
Full control, check the allow box
