Biodiversity refers to the variety of life on Earth and the interdependence of all living things. It supports healthy ecosystems and provides essential resources like food, medicine, and raw materials. However, biodiversity is under threat from habitat destruction, pollution, climate change, and other human-caused factors. Deforestation, in particular, has drastically reduced forests like the Amazon and led to the extinction of many species in places like the Philippines. Increased conservation efforts are needed to protect biodiversity and sustain life on Earth.
