YOUTH AFLAME

TEMPLE OF GLORY ABUJA

SCHOOL OF WISDOM OUTLINE FOR SUNDAY JULY 4, 2021
TOPIC: ANSWERING LIFE’S ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS 1: “WHO AM I?”

Bible Text Psalm 82:5-7 (NIV)

5“The ‘gods’ know nothing, they understand nothing.
They walk about in darkness;
all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6“I said, ‘You are “gods”;
you are all sons of the Most High.’
7”But you will die like mere mortals;
you will fall like every other ruler.”

Memory verse: 1 Peter 2:9 (AMPC)

9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own
purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and
[a]

display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His
marvelous light.

Introduction
Man is born for dominion, but he must dominate through conquest. Our world is plagued
with so many confused people who are trying to make sense of their life. Some are
trying to change their sex from female to male and vice versa. A man wants to date and
marry another man, a female wants to date and marry another female. This is the kind
of world we live in; a rendezvous of broken humanity, confused with misplaced identity.

In our school of wisdom this month, we intend to explore five of life’s key questions:
“Who am I?” (question of identity) “Where do I come from?” (question of origin), What
can I do?” (question of potential), “Why am I here?” (question of purpose), “Where am I
going?” (question of destiny). We believe that the Holy Spirit will grant us understanding
and wisdom to answer these questions individually.
QUESTION 1: WHO AM I? (Question of Identity)

“Know thyself” (Psalm 82:5-7)

Nobody desires something they have no knowledge of. This saying brings to mind the
story of uranium. A generation ago, uranium was defined as a small metallic white
substance with very few uses.But today, with knowledge we see that it is a substance
with unlimited power.
People are like the Uranium, although capable of tremendous accomplishment, but due
to ignorance of who they are, are content with drifting through life. When we become
conscious of the truth that “ye are gods”, we come to realize that nothing, absolutely
nothing is impossible for us. The ignorance of our powers is the cause of our problems.

Who is God?
This is the first step to answering the question of identity, you must first have the
knowledge of your Father. We have all sometimes in our lives been asked, “who is your
father?” A goat cannot give birth to a dog. If you can have an in depth knowledge of who
God is, then the full knowledge of who we are is revealed. Moses in Genesis 3:14
Asked that question directly to God and the answer he got transformed him forever.
Moses before now has seen himself as a failure, one who failed in trying to deliver his
people, he cast himself out to the backside of the desert, never to be heard from again.
God answered him, “I AM”! The stuttering, timid, powerless Moses went on to do the
unimaginable because of his knowledge of “I AM”.

Become Christ Conscious.

Jesus lived on earth with the consciousness of His Father. He would say, the works that
I do was done by my Father. He would say, I and my Father are one. It is in this
consciousness the power is revealed. Like we said last month during our school of
wisdom, “consciousness is cause”. Be conscious of success, be conscious of joy, be
conscious of health, wealth, prosperity, wisdom etc.
Who you are reflects what you do,who you are determines those you associate with,
who you are defines what you drink, what you eat. The question is, “who are you”?

A girl slouches in low self esteem and feels inferior, thinking that she could only find
self-worth or meaning in the cuddles of a young man who exploits her as a sex object. A
young man bows to peer pressure because he feels unworthy, and he only finds
meaning in doing drugs, joining cults or trying to show how weak and cheap he is by
exploiting the weakness of the opposite sex. It is ignorance, the lack of the knowledge
of one's true identity.
God “can not” lie, God “can not” be sick, “God can not” do evil. The “can not” is
emphasized to show that it is not in God’s gene, it is not in his character. If you know
who you really are, then you know that these things also are not in your gene because,
“You are gods”

PANELISTS QUESTIONS.

1. What is identity, and what is the importance of knowing your true identity?
2. How can you truly and fully know yourself?

Today, We shall also look at two true life stories that will help us clarify the issue of true
identity.

Story 1. I am a teenager, and I have gotten so mixed-up I’m afraid I’ve really messed up
my life-an abortion, fluncked out of school, can’t get along with anyone, etc. I’d give
anything to start over again. But how do I find myself?

Story 2. I am in high school and I think the thing that controls me most is my desire to
be popular with other people. I have even stolen money to buy clothes and things so I
will impress my friends. I know this is wrong, but how do I get out of this trap?

3. What are the effects of ignorance of identity in story 1, and what solution do you
proffer?
4. In story 2, do you think the victim knows who he really is? How do we help him
find his identity?

WORD WORX
I know who I am;
I am an offspring of God;
I can do all things through Christ that energizes me;

My life is full of wisdom;
I am super intelligent;
I am super smart;
My life is in alignment with God’s define will and purpose;
