COURT MASTER TRAINING GUIDE:

A Brief about how to greet and address the members in your court room and
judges:

Before moot, outside moot court room:

First when you make what’s app group for judges and students (two groups), greet them and
inform them about you and the details:

In Judges group:

Good afternoon /morning /evening Respected sir and ma’am , My name is xyz from organizing
committee and I will be conveying you here all the necessaries including-

 Court Room ID
 Memorials of participating teams
 Timings to join the Court Room ID

In Participating teams group

Good afternoon /morning /evening, team (Team Code of the team). I am xyz from organizing
committee, you will get the court room ID, timings to join the court room ID.

Please remain vigilant!

All the best.

(Note: Timely send the court room ID and ask them to join quickly.

Shortly resolve their relevant query through message,

If you don’t understand something and it is important, then ask the core committee members
immediately!

Be practical and address all properly and humbly)

During moot, when everyone enters the moot court room

Make sure that everyone is present inside the court room on time, judges and teams, when done
with this task, begin with informing about the teams and their details to judges, for e.g. you can
say:
Good …………respected Judges , I will give brief details about teams so, team (Name of team/
their code) would be representing the petitioner and team (Other team name/ their code)
would be representing the respondents and each team would be given the time of 25 minutes to
present their arguments and it is upon themselves to distribute the time but it is preferable that
one speaker should not exceed 15 minutes so that we can sum up a 25 minutes slot.

Participants need to make sure that you keep you videos on throughout the session and mute your
mike by the time your turn comes.

Then, after 25 minutes, next 5 minutes is kept for rebuttal and sur- rebuttals, which will depend
on your discretion sir/ ma’am if you allow, and I will take your permission to proceed for this
round.

Also, if any questions asked by the judges it will not be included in your 25 minutes speech only.

Are the teams members clear with the directions?

(solve the queries if they ask any…)

In the end you will call the first speaker of petitioner to maker his/her oral submission

(During the 25 minutes of each team you need to message if they exceed their time,

Inform about the same to the judges if required, only after the speech of that team gets
finished that, - sir kindly take a note that team (XYZ) speaker (1or 2) has exceeded the given
time by 10 minutes/ 12 minutes (inform only in case if you feel that they have spoken too
much otherwise don’t say)

(If xyz team finish their arguments, call the other team’s name to start, you can say: Now team
mnx is requested to present their arguments)

For 5 minutes rebuttal and sur-rebuttal round:

After both the teams finish their speeches, ask judge for this round, you can say to judges:
sir/ma’am now 5 minutes time has been kept aside for the rebuttal and sur-rebuttal round if you
permit shall the teams procced with it,

If you get permission ask team petitioner to begin then after it finished 5 minutes ask the
respondent team for the same)

Thanks the teams and judges and ask them to leave: you can say:

Thank you both the teams for your participation, you will get the results soon, now you can leave
the court room.

To judges: Thank you sir for your cooperation and boosting support, I will ask you for the
marksheet in the what’s app group created. Thank you sir/ ma’am once gain. You can now exit
sir.
After the complete round gets finished, in what’s app group:
1. Ask judges for the marksheet.
2. Forward immediately to the core committee when you get the sheet.
3. Take follow up.
