CASE STUDY: THE ACTION RESPONSE APPLICATIONS PROCESSING UNIT (ARAPU)

1. What objectives should the ARAPU process be trying to achieve?

- The objectives that ARAPU process should be trying to achieve are the following:

• First, ARAPU process should try to minimize the proportion of their

turnover that is spent on their administration; and

• Second, ARAPU process should aim to maintain good relationship with

their clients.

2. What is the main problem with the current ARAPU processes?

- The main problem with the current ARAPU process is that there have been delays

over the processing of the applications. This, therefore, resulted to additional

costs for the operation and they have been receiving several complaints for the

funds that needed to be disbursed are not getting through quickly enough.

3. How could the ARAPU process be improved?

- ARAPU process can be improved through adding more staff to the different

departments so that there are more people to scan through all of the applications

and files being sent. In addition, I highly suggest that ARAPU should make the

approving of the applications a little more often by scheduling it at least thrice a

week, instead of once a week.
