Consumer Right Benefits of that Right

The Right to be Informed We can make wise decisions based on accurate information from a
business/product.

goods higher.
Example: When buying a new cell phone, we can choose from many
different brands, styles and price points.

The Right to Safety We are protected from faulty or dangerous products and therefore kept
safe.
Example: Safety labels are found on most goods, like power tools.

The Right to be Heard If something is not right, we can lodge a complaint and be heard.
Example: Food in a picture is not the same as what was served.

The Right to have Problems Defective items can be returned and money refunded.
Corrected Example: Hoverboards caught fire so they were recalled and
consumers could get a replacement or a refund.

The Right to Consumer Education Allows us to make good decisions and get better deals.
Example: We learn how to comparison shop and read advertisement
promotions to understand what we are buying.

The Right to Service We are protected from descrimination as ALL businesses must serve
ALL customers.

bakery cannot deny them that service because they are gay.
