1. INTRODUCTION TO TRADECAST
AKD TradeCast is a sophisticated Online Stocks Trading Platform. It is a source
that provides everything you need through web-based interface. With its
integrated services and utilities, you will gain deeper insight on the behaviour
of the market. This will help you to make the right decisions in a very timely
manner.

AKD TradeCast Key Live Benefits:

Through AKD TradeCast, using multiple charts, organizing portfolios, and picking
stocks would be a breeze because the platform is powered by an online server. Trading
therefore will be faster, more efficient, and most importantly, hassle-free.

Fully personalised trading environment, complete with real-time fluctuation of


prices, data and news modules, technical analysis and charting functions.

Extensive market analysis, streaming news service and daily overview of the
market.

2. DOWNLOAD PROCEDURE
You will receive an email from connect@akdtrade.com with your Login credentials.

You are requested to click on the link provided in the email i.e. www.akdtrade.biz or
you can manually enter the same address in the browser of your own choice. This link
will take you to the website from where you can download our new Trading Application
i.e. AKD TradeCast.

In case, the above mentioned link does not work, you can visit the page by entering the
following link manually in your browser:

https://online.akdtrade.biz/TradeCast/TradeCast.html

(Please note, “T” & “C” in the word TradeCast should be in CAPS.)

As soon as the page is opened you will see the following image on your browser:

To download TradeCast you will be asked to click on the “YOU CAN DOWNLOAD
TradeCast” Link. For reference, look at the image below.

By clicking on the link above, the software will start checking the availability / updated version
of JAVA on your system.

Once the verification is completed, the system will automatically create a shortcut on
your desktop.

A login window will open simultaneously for you to enter the new Trading Platform AKD
TradeCast.

3. DOWNLOAD TROUBLESHOOTING
DOWNLOAD JAVA:
In case, you do not have the required version of JAVA available on your system, the
software will automatically route you to www.java.com to get JAVA updated on your
system.

Here you are requested to click on the “FREE JAVA DOWNLOAD” button to get JAVA for
your system or get it updated if you have an old version available on your system.

As soon as the JAVA is updated on your system the software will again verify JAVA on
your system.

As the verification is done it will follow the normal downloading process for TradeCast.

UNABLE TO LAUNCH THE APPLICATION:
There are times when after verifying JAVA, the system will give you an error “UNABLE
TO LAUNCH APPLICATION”.

The above error indicates that you already have JAVA on your system but the version
needs to be updated.

You can always check the version of JAVA available on your system. To check JAVA you
need to go to the Control Panel of your system and double click on the JAVA icon.

Once you double click on the JAVA icon a window “JAVA CONTROL PANEL” will open. If
you are unable to find the JAVA icon in your control panel you can click the windows
“START” button, goto “RUN” option and write “JAVAWS –VIEWER” and it will display you
the JAVA CONTROL PANEL window.

Here you are required to click on the “ABOUT” button. Another window by the name of
“ABOUT JAVA” will appear, here you can check the available version of JAVA on your
system.

If the available JAVA on your system is not “VERSION 6 Update 26 (build 1.6.0 26-
b03)”.In that case, you are requested to go to www.java.com.

Once you are on the page you will be required to press the “FREE JAVA DOWNLOAD”
button to get JAVA updated on your system.

As soon as JAVA is updated on your system, you need to open www.akdtrade.biz again.

And press “YOU CAN DOWNLOAD TRADECAST” button to download AKD TradeCast.

If the problem still persists, you will be required to go to the control panel of your
system and double click “ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS”

A window will open when you double click on the “ADD or REMOVE PROGRAM” icon. In
that window there is a list of all the applications on your system. Here you may see the
AKD TradeCast as well. If it exists you are requested to press the “REMOVE” button to
remove any previous versions available on your system.

In addition to this, you are also required to open JAVA CONTROL PANEL, process
explained earlier.

Here you will be required to press the “SETTINGS” button; by pressing the button
another window by the name of “TEMPORARY FILES SETTINGS” will appear. Image of
which is shown below.

Before moving further, you need to make sure that the “KEEP TEMPORARY FILES ON MY
COMPUTER” at the top is marked. If not, you are requested to mark it.

Now are required to press “Delete Files” button another window “Delete Temporary
Files” will appear.

Here you are required to mark both the checks if not marked, and press “OK” button. It
will clear your JAVA cache.

Once the cache is cleared, you need to visit www.akdtrade.biz and continue with the
downloading of AKD TradeCast. Process of which is explained earlier.

At times, when after doing all the hard work when you click on the AKD TradeCast
shortcut the login window does not appear. There can be two possibilities:

1) Either the pop-up option in your browser settings are off


2) You are required to change your browser settings for JAVA.

To handle the first is easy you can go to the tools option of your browser and change the
pop-up settings.

But if you need to change the settings of your browser for JAVA, it will need some time.
It is explained here.

You again need to go to the JAVA control panel window and click the “network setting”
button

When you click on the network setting button, another window by the name of
“NETWORK SETTINGS” will appear.

Here you will be required to select the direct “connection option” and click the “OK”
button.

Once it is done, you can now click on the shortcut of AKD TradeCast and you will be able
to access it.

In some cases, when you enter the link www.akdtrade.biz, it will display you an oracle
window. This means the system you are using does not have the traces of JAVA on it.
This means you need to visit JAVA.com and install JAVA from scratch on your system.
Process of which is explained earlier.

4. LOGIN PROCEDURE
After downloading TradeCast, a shortcut icon of TradeCast will appear on your desktop.
The image is shown below:

Double-click on this icon. The login window of TradeCast will open as shown below. Enter
your user ID and PW. While entering the PW, you would be required to enter the missing
characters in white boxes.

CHANGE PASSWORD:
When you successfully download TradeCast, you can login with the provided password.
As soon as you login, the application will ask you to change your password. Please make
sure that you keep an alpha-numeric password ranging from 8 to 12 characters.
Example: hg85jt54w

CREATE PIN:
Once you change your password, you will be notified to create your PIN. Select “Create
PIN now” and click “Next”

Click on “Get Pass Code”. Enter the password which you created in the second step.
Then enter your registered e-mail ID. Then enter your mobile number with country code
in a continuous form. Example: 923219876543. Do not enter space, zero or dash. Click
on “send me my pass Code”. You will receive an sms and an e-mail from us containing a
Pass Code.

In case of users having international numbers, they can enter it with their international
country codes. Example: 96651234567

Click on Create PIN and enter the Pass Code which you have received on sms/e- mail. Now
enter any 4-digit numbers of your choice to make it your PIN. Click on “submit”

Once you create your PIN, you will see the new trading screen with several options.

If you are an old client, then after creating your PIN send us a request to activate your trading
on TradeCast by either calling us at 111-253-253 or sending us an e-mail at info@akdtrade.com

P.S:

 Once you switch your trading to TradeCast, you won’t be able to use Trade Pro
and website for trading.

 TradeCast is capable to work in every environment.

 If you find the software complicated, then kindly contact our Customer Support
Service for guidance.

 If you do not want to download TradeCast, you can also use our Web Interface
for trading by logging on: www.akdtrade.biz

5. LOGIN TROUBLESHOOTING
INVALID LOGIN CREDENTIALS:
If you get an error of invalid login credentials, then re-check the password which you
have entered.

FORGOT PASSWORD:
If still you get the same error, click on “Forgot Password” beside the tab of User ID. A
window will open where you will be required to enter you user ID and E-mail address.
Click “OK”. You will receive an E-mail from connect@akdtrade.com containing a new
Password.

ACCOUNT LOCKED:
When invalid password is entered more than three times, your account automatically
gets locked. In this case, you get an error: “Your account has been locked. Please
contact the administrator.” To unlock your account, place a request by either sending us
an e-mail at info@akdtrade.com from your registered e-mail ID or call at: 111-253-253.
When you place the request, your account will be activated within one working hour.

SYSTEM NOT RESPONDING:


If you get an error of “System not responding”, then send an e-mail at
info@akdtrade.com from your registered e-mail ID or call at: 111-253-253.

6. CUSTOMIZATION FEATURES
6.1 PREFERENCES (Ctrl+P)
Go to “File” on the top left side of the screen and click “Preferences” or press
“Ctrl+P”

General: you can mark or unmark the windows which you desire to view in your default
settings.

Change Password (Alt+P): You can change your password from this option

Change PIN (Alt+C): you can change your PIN from this option

Set Preferred Account: you can have multiple accounts with single login and you can
also trade on behalf of your friends and family. Currently, this feature is unavailable.

Fonts: You can change the colors and fonts of your trading screen.

6.2 UNATTENDED MODE


Go to “File” on the top left side of the screen and click on “Unattended Mode”.
The application will run normally, but order placement will be disabled.

6.3 LOGOUT (Alt+F4)
Go to “File” on the top left side of the screen and click on “Logout” to close the
application. You can also logout by clicking the "cross" on the top right of the
trading screen.

7) ORDER PLACEMENT FEATURES

7.1 BUY (F4)


Click on a scrip and then press F4 on the keyboard to place a buying order

7.2 SELL (F5)


Click on the scrip and then press F5 on the keyboard to place a selling order

7.3 BUNCH ORDER (F6)
This option enables you to place multiple orders at a time

7.4 SHORT SELL (F8)


Click on the scrip and then press F8 on the keyboard to place a short selling
order. This option is currently unavailable.

7.5 CANCEL ORDER (F11)
Press “F11” to cancel an order. Enter the Order# of the order which you want
to cancel. You can see the “Order#" in the Outstanding Log and in message
window.

8) MARKET MONITOR
8.1 MY WATCHES (F12)
To view the Live Market, Click “F12”. The window of “My Watches” will open

1st, 2nd, & 3rd Profile:


On this window, you can see three profiles (1st, 2nd and 3rd). You can enter scrips of your
choice and create a personalized profile. Scroll on the right side of this window to view
all the available options.

Personalize the Columns:
You can change the settings of the Columns that appear in your profile. Right-click on
the title of any column, and you will see a drop down list of options that you can check
or un-check according to your priority.

SECTOR WATCH:
To view the Live Market sector-wise, click on Sector Watch. To view a particular sector,
select a sector from the drop-down menu.

INDEX WATCH:
To view the Live Market Index-wise, click on Index Watch. To view a particular Index,
select the Index Type from the top-right side of the window.

SPOT WATCH:
To view the companies which are on Spot, click on “Spot Watch”

FUTURE WATCH:
To view the Future Market, click on “Future Watch”

CAP WATCH:
To view the scrips on “Lower Cap” and “Upper Lock”, click on “Cap Watch”

PORTFOLIO WATCH:
To view the current status of the shares in your portfolio along with their Worth and
Profit/Loss, click on “Portfolio Watch”. You also have the liberty to place orders through
your portfolio watch by using the “Trade” button.

8.2 MESSAGE WINDOW (Ctrl+F12)
ACTIVITY:
This option portrays the notifications of the activities of the stock market, such as: order
placement intimations, order execution confirmations, indication of market opening &
closing, and intimations of upper & lower caps.

To view the status of your orders along with the order numbers, click on “Orders”

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
To view the Announcements of the companies in terms of payouts and earnings, click on
Announcements.

You can also search the Announcements of any company by selecting a range of date on
the option of “Search” on the top left side of this window.

NEWS:
To read the latest News of the political and economical situations of Pakistan which
would directly or indirectly affect the Stock Market, click on “NEWS”

AKD:
To read the Overview of the Performance of the Stock Market, click on the option of
“AKD”. This option contains the Morning Note and Closing Note of the Stock Market. It
also displays important announcements of AKD Trade.

BOARD MEETINGS:
To view the Dates and Timings of the Board Meetings of the listed companies, click on
the option of “Board Meetings”

In the tab of “Search”: select the range of dates, enter the scrip of a company in the tab
of “Find what”, and click “Go” to see the history of board meetings of that particular
company.

ALERTS:
Through the option of “Alerts”, Personalized Alerts can be created for the notification of
certain rates.

Margin Calls:

RSS (Really Simple syndication):
RSS enables you to create a list of Websites where news is updated on Real-time basis.
You can copy and paste the URL of any source of news in “RSS Source” tab to create the
list.

Cash, Share Worth, Equity, Exposure, and other information related to your account.

To view the executed BUYING orders of the day, click on “Session Holding”. You can

SECURITY HOLDING:
To view the shares in your Security Holding, click on the option of “Security Holdings”.

9.2 OUTSTANDING LOG (Ctrl+F5)
This window shows all the In-process orders -- both buying and selling

You can save your Outstanding Log in a pdf format (which opens in Adobe Acrobat
Reader) by clicking on the top-right side of this window. You also have the option to
cancel all the placed orders at once by pressing "cancel selected orders(s) from market"
and on the other hand you have the facility to execute all your orders on market by
clicking “Execute selected order(s) on market rates". You can also refresh the status of
the outstanding window by pressing "reload from server".

You can also take a print out of your data by clicking on the icon of printer on the top-
right side of this window.

9.3 TRADE LOG (Ctrl+F6)
All the executed (buying and selling) orders appear in this window

You can save your Trade Log in a pdf format (which opens in Adobe Acrobat Reader) by
clicking on the top-right side of this window. You have the facility to sort your orders in
various manners. You can sort them by order type: “BUY" or "SELL", or by market
counter or even with the scrip.

You can also take a print out of your data by clicking on the icon of printer on the top-
right side of this window.

9.4 ACTIVITY LOG (Ctrl+F7)
All the In-process, executed and cancelled orders appear in this window. This window
shows each and every activity related to your orders.

You can save your Activity Log in a pdf format (which opens in Adobe Acrobat Reader)
by clicking on the top-right side of this window. You can also take a print out of your
data by clicking on the icon of printer on the top-right side of this window.

9.5 DAILY TRADE REPORT (Ctrl+F8)
This window shows the profit/loss account of each scrip which is traded in a day. This
account also shows a cumulative sum of Profit/loss made in a particular day.

You can save your Daily Trade Report in a pdf format (which opens in Adobe Acrobat
Reader) by clicking on the top-right side of this window. You can also take a print out of
your data by clicking on the icon of printer on the top-right side of this window.

9.6 ACCOUNT STATEMENT (Alt+A)
The Account Statement portrays a detailed entry of each transaction and funds
transferred. This statement is a detailed version of a General Ledger, which shows all
the details of commission, withholding tax, CDC charges and FED Charges applied on
each transaction. The Ledger also shows the Debit and Credit amount as well as the
Balance credited or debited after each transaction.

You can save your Account Statement in a pdf format (which opens in Adobe Acrobat
Reader) by clicking on the top-right side of this window. You can also take a print out of

SORTING ACCOUNT STATEMENT:

~ “Day Trade” Sorting

To view your “Day Trade” Transactions in a particular duration, select the range of start and end dates
and type “diff” in the text box as highlighted below. Click on Get.

~ “SELL” Sorting

To view your “SELL” Transactions in a particular duration, select the range of start and end dates and
type “sell” in the text box as highlighted below. Click on Get.

~ “BUY” Sorting

To view your “BUY” Transactions in a particular duration, select the range of start and end dates and
type “buy” in the text box as highlighted below. Click on Get.

~ Personalized Sorting

To view your account activities related to a specific amount in a particular


duration, select the range of start and end dates and type the amount in the text
box as highlighted below. Select the sign of greater than (>), less than (<) or
Equals to (=) as per your requirement. Click on Get. Shown below, is the example
of “Debit Amount”. Likewise, Amount can also be sorted according to Credit and
Balance.

9.7 ORDER HISTORY (Alt+O)
This window portrays the history of the shares that were sold and bought in terms of the
total rate (at which they were traded), the traded quantity, the total amount incurred in
the trade of each scrip, the execution dates and the settlement dates.

To view your Oder History, select the range of Start and End date and then click on
“Get”.

~ “Type” Sorting

You can personalize your statement of Order History by selecting the Type of
Transaction (Buy Sell or All). To view a particular type of transaction, select the
type as shown below. Then select the range of start and end dates and click on
Get.

~ Personalized Sorting

To view the history of orders related to a specific amount in a particular duration,


select the range of start and end dates and type the amount in the text box as
highlighted below. Select the sign of greater than (>), less than (<) or Equals to
(=) as per your requirement. Click on Get. Shown below, is the example of “Gross
Rate”. Likewise, Amount can also be sorted according to “Net Amount”, “Gross
Rate”, “Quantity”, “Execution Date” and “Clearing Date”.

In order to view the transactions of a scrip in a particular duration, select the scrip as
shown below. Then select the range of start and end dates and click on Get.

9.8 CASH WITHDRAWAL STATEMENT (Alt+W)
When a Cash withdrawal is placed, its status appears in this window. The status may be:
In-Process, Approved or Declined. Each request will have a separate entry.

You can save your cash Withdrawal Statement in a pdf format (which opens in Adobe
Acrobat Reader) by clicking on the top-right side of this window. You can also take a
print out of your data by clicking on the icon of printer on the top-right side of this
window.

10) SERVICES
10.1 CASH WITHDRAWAL REQUEST (Alt+R)
You can place a cash withdrawal request through this option. There are three modes of
withdrawing cash: Cheque Delivery (at your postal address), cheque pickup and Online
Fund Transfer (AKD to SCB and vice versa)

11.1 RESTORE DEFAULT LAYOUT (Ctrl+R)
You can transform your trading screen into Default Layout by either pressing “Ctrl+R” on
your keyboard or you can click on “Restore Default” on the top-right side of the screen.

12) TICKERS
A ticker is a strip on which the prices of different scrips are displayed in animation.
Tickers enable you to keep an eye on the market even when you are not on the market
screen. You can have the tickers placed on any other application that you are working
on. Tickers enable you to be in touch with the market even if you are doing something
else.

Upper-Capped Tickers:
By clicking on this option, a Real-time strip of ticker of the scrips which are on upper cap
will appear as shown below. You can click and drag this ticker anywhere on the screen.

Lower-Locked Tickers:
By clicking on this option, a Real-time strip of ticker of the scrips which are on lower lock
will appear. You can click and drag this ticker anywhere on the screen.

TOP MOVERS:

By clicking on the option of Top Movers ->“By Volume”, a Real-time strip of ticker of the
scrips which have generated the highest volume of shares will appear.

By clicking on the option of Top Movers ->“By Price Increase”, a Real-time strip of ticker
of the scrips which have the highest change (prices-wise) will appear.

By clicking on the option of Top Movers ->“By Price Decrease”, a Real-time strip of ticker
of the scrips which have the lowest change (prices-wise) will appear.

By clicking on the option of Top Movers ->“By % Increase”, a Real-time strip of ticker of
the scrips which have the highest percentage of change in their prices will appear.

By clicking on the option of Top Movers ->“By % Decrease”, a Real-time strip of ticker of
the scrips which have the lowest percentage of change in their prices will appear.
