Subject Description:
The course aims to develop practical and creative skills in reading and writing;
introduce students to the fundamental techniques of writing fiction, poetry, and drama;
and discuss the use of such techniques by well-known authors in a variety of genres.
Each class will be devoted to the examination of techniques and to the workshop of
students’ drafts toward the enrichment of their manuscripts. Students learn how to
combine inspiration and revision, and to develop a sense of form.
Writing is one of the macro skills student has to gain mastery on. As your grade
level goes higher, you are introduced to higher English subjects which lead you to
encounter different texts. Thus, this module guides you to gain consciousness on your
emotional and intellectual responses as readers and as writers of your own literary
pieces. The activities in this module allow you to acknowledge your senses: sight,
hearing, smell, taste, and touch. The acknowledgment of these senses helps you create
your own literary pieces with the input of elements of creative writing and language.
General Instructions:
This module has been designed for a semester’s use. It is not downloadable nor
replaceable. Each week is a different educational experience; hence, you have to
ensure that you have taken your own module from your adviser and answer the
activities within it in a given time. Your performance will be based on how you able to
answer and accomplish this module. Note: “on- time submission gets higher score than
late submission.” When answering, write legibly and avoid erasures.
