INVATEX® CS cracking agent

PRETREATMENT FOR TEXTILES

USES
®
INVATEX CS cracking agent is mainly recommended for
Washing or desizing of synthetic fibers
complexing component in baths with FWA sensitive to hard water
Preventing soil redeposition in heavily contaminated wash liquors
Softening process water in the textile industry
Removing encrustations from tanks and equipment

Characteristics Benefits

• Dispersing and dissolving properties. • Prevents precipitation of metal hydroxides,

carbonates and silicates on goods and
machinery in pretreat ment and washing baths.

• Crystallization-inhibiting and • Prevents/retards precipitation, particularly in the

threshold effect. substoichiometric range and at high dilutions.

• Solubilizing and detergenc y-boosting • Enhances the effect of simultaneously applied

properties . detergents and dispersants.

• Antiflocculation effect in colloidal • Prevents precipitation and agglomeration.

systems.

• Liquid, pumpable formulation, • Simple to handle, suitable for automatic

miscible with water. dispensing equipment.

• No surfactant content. • Generates no foam, is highly stable to alkali,

oxidation and hydrolysis.

PROPERTIES

Chemical constitution Preparation based on phosphonic acid derivatives.

Ionic character Anionic

pH 3.0–4.0

3
Specific gravity at 20 °C 1.1–1.2 g/cm

Physical form Clear, colorless to light-yellow liquid.

General stability Very stable in both hot and cold acid to highly alkaline
(>300 g/l NaOH 100%) and oxidizing liquors.

®
Storage stability INVATEX CS is stable for 1 year when properly stored in
closed containers at 20 °C. The product is sensitive to
temperatures below 0 °C and above 60 °C.

Complexing power In view of its marked dispersing action and threshold effect,
®
INVATEX CS is difficult to compare in precise numerical
terms with (conventional) sequestrants, which do not have
these properties.

Viscosity (Rheomat 180, 21°C) < 100 mPas

Conductivity (tel quel, 20°C) About 32 mS/cm

Ecology/toxicology The usual hygiene and safety rules for handling chemicals
should be observed in storage, handling and use. The
product must not be swallowed.
