1. What are the Social Welfare and Development Perspectives? Choose one perspective
and explain.

There are three major perspectiveꟷ conservatism, liberalism, and radicalism. For
Conservatism Perspective, the central idea for this is that the individuals together with their
family are responsible for meeting their own needs and solving their own problems. This
perspective is influenced by the existence of kinship culture.

2. What is the difference between and among Social Welfare, Social Services and Social
Welfare programs and projects?

Social Welfare is defined as the goal of all the sets or systems of actions such as the
organized public and private services of the people that are intended for the holistic good of the
people through solving their problems, addressing their rights and needs as well as providing an
opportunity for their improvement their potential in life, especially for the disadvantaged group. It
is the desired state of living in a community. On the other hand, in order to attain this, there
must be an implementation of various interventions that target the various domains of the lives
of the people such as physical, psychological, emotional, social, economic, cultural, and
spiritual. These interventions are what we called Social Services.

Nonetheless, in account of these, the Social Welfare programs and projects is a form
of Social Service that is being provided to a target beneficiary aiming to reinforce their Social
Welfare. These are the tangible (hospitals, road, housing, financial, etc.) and intangible
(counseling, seminars, trainings, etc.) efforts that aims to help the people in overcoming their
struggles (rough road, etc.), fulfilling their needs (educational needs, etc.), and towards attaining
a certain goal.
