Dear Sir/ Madame,
I’ m writing with regard to your series of articles that appeared during this month in
Foreign Policy magazine….(numele pe care o sa il vezi in foaie, eu nu mai tin minte!). As a
person who read your magazine for a very long period, I decided to join the group who
commented on this topic. Here is my humble opinion.
International Terrorism- World War III has just begun?
The safe and secure environment of the world is threatened by actions made by terrorist
organizations. We are daily aggressed by scary breaking news! Media is reporting on terrifying
actions of international terrorist organizations who are gaining control on large territories. And it
seems that this is only the beginning of a new, bloody unpredictable and unconventional type of
war!
All over the world, the specialists are trying to find solutions to fight back this dangerous
phenomenon. And the answer is usually related with the involving super prepared well equipped
and trained, as well as well paid from the contributors money, soldiers! It is an easy action with
at least two obvious advantages: on the short term the terrorist organizations are defeated and the
contributors will be happy to find that their money are well spend and used fighting against
terrorism. Unfortunately as we all know violence is born out of violence! The solution is
according to me, in fighting against the corrupted regimes, who do not allow the access to
educations to the people, who do not allow access to a sustainable health care program! Because
those regimes are the fertile ground where the terrorist organizations! Fighting bad to the roots
can be and must be the answer!
NATO organization as the biggest security provider has to be involved in the fighting
against the terrorist organizations. And as the terrorism is a phenomenon that is continuously
developing the organization has to keep up the pace. New doctrinal approaches and new
techniques have to be developed and new solutions to be found in order to effectively combat the
terrorist. Of course, NATO it is and it will be involved in fighting, on the ground, against
terrorist. However, this is not and it shall not be the purpose of the organization. The
organization has to remain a World security provider and his noble purpose cannot be reduced at
only fighting against terrorism!
Improving homeland security is a proper answer to fight back the international terrorism.
With good and flexible measures in keeping a safe environment on the homeland, the states
contribute to a stronger NATO organization. Moreover, the states become good examples that a
functional democracy is the answer, and the terrorist organizations will not be desirable to join.
Homeland security is the foundation in fighting terrorism effects. It can be held and improved
with a professional army, well-trained peoples working for the services in charge of maintaining
the country safe and not the last with well-informed citizens!
According to my opinion the international terrorism can be successfully fight back but it
is not a short-term fight. In order to develop a safe and secure environment for our children to
grow up we have to invest to education and functional democracies!
Dear Sir/Madame I very much hope that my humbles opinions will find a place into the
pages of your magazine.
Your faithfully
Alix the Best!
