I choose eye donors organization because it is the only NGO which has the most information available
on internet.

INTRODUCTION :

Eye Donors Organization (EDO) is an altruistic government assistance NGO, it is


properly enlisted with the Ministry of Social Welfare, Govt. of Punjab. The NGO has
been offering important types of assistance from 1981 to the destitute and meriting
poor eye patients of Tehsil Taxila, Wah, Hassanabdal, Haripur and several its suburb
towns.

EDO was established in 1981, by the most respectable character of Pakistan in the
field of training Sqn. Ldr N.A. Ask (Late)Ex-head Cadet College Hassan Abdal and
author Principal of Cadet College Pataro (Sindh). After the passing of Sqn. Ldr. N.A.
Ask in 1994 the charge of EDO was relegated to Prof. Syed Zafar Ali Shah (Late),
who was additionally Ex-head Cadet College Hassanabdal and most noticeable
educationist of his time. After the passing of over two extraordinary characters, Prof.
Faqir Muhammad Ch (HOD Chemistry) of Cadet College Hassanabdal gave us his
full a.0patronage alongwith the Services of his exceptional child (Eye Specialist) Prof.
Dr. Muhammad Mumtaz Chaudhry. Presently Mrs. Keaiser Beg little girl of Sqn. Ldr.
N.A. Ask driving the NGO as president excellently.

VISION : to help people who suffer from vision related disabilities in under-
served areas and make their life independent and dignified.
To work for awareness of Eye Care and prevention of blindness by holding
seminar and distribution of literature.
To initiate program and schemes for rehabilitation of the blinds.
To motivate general public for cornea donation.
To establish EDO Eye Hospital as a vision rehabilitation Center of Excellence.

to help individuals who experience the ill effects of vision related inabilities in under-
served zones and make their life free and honorable.

To work for attention to Eye Care and anticipation of visual deficiency by holding
workshop and dissemination of writing.

To start program and plans for recovery of the blinds.

To propel overall population for cornea gift.

To set up EDO Eye Hospital as a dream restoration Center of Excellence.

MISSION : To fight against ever increasing blindness especially in poor areas of


the country due to “CATARACT”, by providing free of cost cataract surgery.

To battle against consistently expanding visual deficiency particularly in poor zones


of the nation because of "Waterfall", by giving liberated from cost waterfall medical
procedure.
EYE CAMPS
Eye camp is a very important project of the NGO through which a team of eye specialists &
Social Workers visit to remote areas and arrange eye camps and distribute medicines, glasses
to the needy people and also perform cataract surgeries. Under this project the NGO’s
performance is as under:

-                    No. of spectacles distributed                 :        31,535

Eye camp is a significant venture of the NGO through which a group of eye
authorities and Social Workers visit to remote zones and orchestrate eye camps and
disseminate prescriptions, glasses to the poor individuals and furthermore perform
waterfall medical procedures. Under this task the NGO's exhibition is as under:

Q-2:Is there a clear plan for keeping the NGO and its projects sustainable?

Yes , they do have a clear plan for making its project sustainable.
 They update their budget frequently
 They are not dependent on one NGO, they keeps on adding more donors which
are helping them in making their project sustainable.
 Saving a little level of the budget for sustainability exercises can guarantee long
haul feasibility and effect of both the NGO and its projects.
Q-3: Are gender issues well incorporated into the NGO?

Following are the action plan EDO is using to incorporate gender issues.

 They are giving equal access to men and women and utilisation of
services.
 Women and men are equally involved in decision making.

 Equal treatment is integrated into steering processes.

Q-4: Is the NGO using skills of all the workers to the best of their ability?
They are using their worker’s best ability by assesseing their worker’s understanding.
They assign project to the workers based on their current knowledge or what they are
best at. In this way they are using skills of all the workers to the best of their ability.
Q-5: Is there a strategy for fundraising?

Following are the strategy they are using for fund raising.
DONORS : by showing their work ( certain eye camps) and achievements to gain the
trust of donors that they achieve this in that period that results in donation from
donors.
SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM : they are also using social media platform to raise the
voice to get funds. They made appeal on their website for funding.

Services?
 By giving donations to the needy people
 By giving our old clothes to the one who don’t have
 Works as a volunteer in NGO’s.
 Work as a volunteer at a charitable action.
 By helping illiterate people how to read and write.
