Work at Height Unskilled /untrained Ensure that all personnel working at height are adequately trained in the use of Double Lanyard
personnel Safety Harness, Fall Arrestor, and Life Lines etc. before the work at height has started.

Maintain a register of all personnel working at height and ensure that they are competent. The
person working at height should be physically & mentally fit for work at height. (No B.P /
Diabetes and not suffering from fits)
Medically unfit for work
A provision of safe access to height shall be ensured (proper ladder, staircase, scaffolds etc.).

Ensure use of Life line for safe movement at height as suitable and appropriate.

Ensure safe / secured working platform with handrails.

Avoid work beyond day light. If necessary, adequate illumination and extra precautions at work
place including close supervision and Risk Assessment should be ensured.
Fall of person from height due Avoid work during adverse weather like rain, heavy wind, fog etc.
to Improper Access/unsafe Ensure that the area under working at height cordoned off and Caution Boards displayed.
Movement
Ensure safe keeping of all materials, tools used at height to prevent fall. E.g. Scaffolders /
Personnel working at height should carry tools in Tool holder bags.

Improper working platform Ensure use of right tools in correct manner.

Utmost care should be taken at ground during hot work at height to prevent fire hazard.

Lack of illumination during Obtain Work Permit and ensure extra precautions while working in operational / hazardous
work at night area or working nearby or over back waters/ open pit.
